(Outside of regular childcare)
We used a baby sitter/grandma this year for two funerals, a few date nights and one all day trip. I also left LO 1 & 3 with my SIL or MIL a couple times when LO 2 had soccer that required parent participation.

Our in-law's live about 2 hours away so they are able to babysit on weekends. If we have a concert or event on the weekdays, we'll get a babysitter.

We don't have any local family (all 12+ hrs away), so we do fairly often! We have a date night ~1/week, and then occasional things like concerts, parties, work events, kid-free school events, etc. It probably ends up being...4x/month maybe?

Never. My parents are four hours away so they'll come down occasionally so we can go to dinner or a movie. I wish we had a babysitter we could call on but I don't know how to go about finding one!

Rarely. If I have a dentist appt and can't watch my kids I'll get a babysitter. But they come everywhere else with us. We recently talked about getting a neighborhood girl to babysit for a date night. But I'm so nervous. And I also feel like I can't ask my parents to babysit since they have all my other siblings kids weekly. Idk, we usually try and go to movies when the kids are asleep so they sleep in their stroller in the movie.

Often.
We have 3 sets of grandparents local, so between them and our babysitter - we probably hire someone every 2-4 weeks so DH and I can go out to dinner.
Plus we went away for 4 nights kid free last week - using a combo of Grandma care and babysitter!

Not that often. We don't have any local family so if we want to go out, we have to hire someone. I'm getting my wisdom teeth out soon, but on a day daycare is closed, so I have a babysitter coming to watch DD while DH comes to the appointment and takes me home.

We do for date nights where we want to go out and have dinner and have LO be in bed by the time we get back. We try to schedule them for about once a month. We can also use my dad or MIL, but they live 45-60 min away and we feel bad making them drive at night so we tend to only use them for daytime stuff.

Hire as in pay, we used to have a nanny 4 hours a week, that lasted about a year. Now, we don't have anyone. I should probably start looking into it.
