When are you "suppose" to start weaning LO from the bottle?
M is turning 1 in a month and just wondering if I should start thinking about this?

I started weaning after he turned 1, and luckily the transition went smoothly. I started first with weaning him off nap time bottles, and it was up to DH to wean LO off of his night bottle. I think he was completely weaned at around 14 months.

DD was totally weaned just after 12 months; DS just turned 1 a week ago and he's down to one bottle a day. We hope to wean him off his bedtime bottle in the next month.

I always heard 1 yr, but it took us till 15 months. I have a friend whose barely turned 3 yr old still gets one and her two front teeth rotted out and she had to get dental work costing a thousand bucks.

We did it exactly at a year. I just stopped feeding DD her bottles and started just giving her a sippy of cows milk with each meal and snack. She started eating a lot more solid food within 24 hours, in order to compensate for getting fewer calories from her mostly liquid diet. We actually haven't completely bottle weaned b/c she still takes her bedtime bottle. I'm planning on dropping the bedtime feeding sometime in the next couple of weeks, once we're back at home and back into our normal routine.

I plan on weaning at like 10m. Basically just giving formula in a "transitional" sippy. I want to be cold-turkey done by 13m.
