So we will be needing a nanny for the first three months after my maternity leave. Then we will be starting the baby in day care. When should we start looking for/interviewing nannies? I'm currently about nine months away from when ill need her to start and I'm sure at this point very few people know their availability that far in advance.

We're interviewing now for a position starting in June. Especially for nannies, you've got to kind of look for folks who are available in the moment. Right now we're running up against a lot of college students who are going to school full time in the fall.
We had everything all set up but it ended up falling through. (long story)

We started our research into infact day cares tonight, just to get a sense, and will look more into probably around 5-6 months preg. I'm going to be lucky to get 6 weeks leave, so we want to have a solid system in place. I wish I had a friend due around the same time we are so we could do a nanny share.
