When/what age did you stop warming up your LOs milk? Was it breast milk or cow's milk or mixture of both?

My DD is 9.5 months. Our nanny still warms her bottles of BM, but she also gets about 2 ounces a day of cold cow's milk from a sippy cup. I serve that cold only because I want her to get used to it.

We had to keep the breastmilk HOT, otherwise she wouldn't drink it. I want to say it was close to 10 or 11 months when she would finally take a lukewarm bottle. The transition to cows milk was difficult because she didn't like the cold. After a few months, she got used to the idea....

LO has warm milk at night after his bath but drinks milk cold the rest of the day. He's 15 mos. I'm sure he would drink it cold at night too, but I feel like its cozier to warm it up

@Alivoo01: I'm an exclusive pumper and I give my LO room temperature milk all the time. But that's only because she's not a good eater, warm BM or not, so it's easier not go go to the trouble.

I give LO warmed cow's milk (16 months) for her bottle right when she wakes up, for her nap, and for her bedtime bottle. If she's cranky and wants another bottle "just because," it'll be cold.
Once she's over this cold, we're going to start weaning her off the bottle and to straw cups only.

When we started cow's milk it was always cold. She actually prefers it ice cold!
Eta except when we were transitioning bc daycare would warm bottles but we didn't at home.

My LO is almost 5 months and I EP. I try to give her room temperature BM, but usually I don't plan ahead far enough and she starts yelling before it has a chance to warm up after being in the fridge, so she gets it cold.

My son always gets warmed milk, he's almost 3. He won't drink it cold and I don't find warming it up to be that problematic.

I am an exclusive pumper and put the bottle in warm water for 5 mins before feedings. I was told not to heat BM because it kills all the good nutrients when heated! Told to me by NICU nurses. Otherwise, he likes it cold if really hungry!

@cranberry: DS will scream like crazy upon wakening also. Never thought about just giving it to him cold. I'll have to try that next time. I always waited till it was warmed up. He doesn't have a set wake up time so I can't warm it up in advance.

We stopped warming DD BM bottles when she was 2 months. MIL always gave us grief for it but DD had no issues with it whatsoever.

Ha, I stopped when we introduced WCM at one year.

I started serving it cold around 5-6 months. I never really warmed it up much so the transition was easy.

we never give it to her cold, but LO gets room temp milk a lot. She's three months and we've done it like this for about a month maybe?

@autumnlove: So you went cold turkey and just gave her cold milk after warming up her bottle previously? She was okay with it??
@Mamasig: We're far from introducing cow's milk, but I'm worried about the transition. If DS will take cold bm from a bottle, it'll help out tremendously!!! DH currently doesn't do night duty because he said warming up a bottle takes too long and it's easier if I just nurse him. True, but mommas tired man! If DS will take it cold, then DH has no excuse to not help and maybe I can sleep for 2 hours instead of 1!!

She usually got room temp. bottles when we were formula feeding so the transition to cold milk wasn't huge for her, and she loves it.

@Alivoo01: before he was born a friend of mine gave me the advice to not warm his bottles so that when he does transition to cow's milk he'll be used to it. He drank formula and I used to make a pitcher for the day and have the bottles ready to go in the fridge. At first I would put them in a cup of hot water just to get the chill out. Eventually, we stopped doing that. Maybe try warming it less and less so it's more of a gradual transition?
