A typically sleeps 7-8 hours now before waking up to nurse, but my boobs can't get on the same page. It's been over a week and they still runneth over when he wakes up to eat. Will they eventually catch on and stop producing so much at night?

They should. Mine never take quite that long to adjust, but I think my milk supply adjusts pretty quickly (maybe faster than normal). Just make sure you're not pumping/expressing to relieve the pressure, because that signals to your body to keep producing that amount of milk.

@allison: Thanks, hopefully I'll start producing less at night soon. I don't pump, except after he eats around 5:00am or 6:00am if he only eats on one side because the other side is so engorged.

@tlcbaby: I did that for awhile (pump one side) and I kept producing a lot. Maybe try pumping a little, but not emptying the breast? Or getting LO to switch from the first side to the second before he's emptied the first?
Of course, this is tricky because you don't want to get a clogged duct. If you're susceptible to those, start gradually reducing the amount you pump each morning.
I actually liked having the morning oversupply because I could build up a freezer stash, but pumping in general is a PITA, and pumping at 5am doesn't sound fun!
