My win/fail/truth for today involves attempting to sleep train our 10 week old using CIO. We put him down last night at 745 pm in his crib (he usually sleeps in swing)..
He cried for two hours straight (fail)
Finally couldn't take it anymore and went into the room to get him and cuddle him (poor baby was sweaty from the crying).
Put him in the swing where he promptly fell asleep (of course) for 4.5 hrs (slight win???)
During the crying session , my mom (who lives with us) came out of her room to yell at me and question my parenting methods.... Sigh
Will have to attempt the sleep training again when mom is away for the weekend (truth)

Lolol!!!! I've definitely been there before!!!

Win: I spent some time playing with my LO this morning and it was great!
Fail: I was 3 minutes late to work
Truth: I don't even care!!

@Mae: woohoo!! that's awesome! I loved the moby for those same reasons- serious lifesaver until he learned to nap on his own. and yeah... totally have used the bathroom with it too. I hated the tails - so I'd tie it nice and short in the front or at my hip instead.

Mine are all work related.

Win: I just got out of a meeting where a policy I've been working on just got approved. Employees are going to love this! I also just ate a really tasty pasta salad that I made yesterday

Fail: back to back meetings all day, and that great policy I'm implementing I won't even get to use it because I'm a contractor

Truth: I spent the first hour of a conference call this morning browsing the internet looking for clothes

@Mae: I've totally peed wearing babies before (my own, not others!)
Win: it isn't chickenpox!
Fail: probably should have called the pediatrician earlier about DS#1's rash/hive things
Truth: I almost wish it had been chickenpox, then at least I would get what's going on with his skin!

W: I finally bought potting soil and reported some herbs and LO loved helping!

F: I forgot about a dentist appointment until they called and was 20 min late.

T: I'm so overwhelmed by the amount of stuff I have to do before baby gets here I don't do any of it. I need to finish his quilt and sweater, clean, pay bills and argue some insurance claims. But most days I don't get anything done besides regular household maintenance. And today that is looking like a stretch!

@Mae: @ellewoods84: I am soooo much less grossed out by pee and spit up than I used to be. I'll change her if it's a lot or if she's cold. Otherwise, well...

And don't even get me started about the crap that's all over my sheets!

Win: put together a sweet father's day gift for DH- a photobook of just him and LO, set up to read like a children's book for him to read with LO.
Fail: I followed that up with wasting 3 HOURS online.
Truth: I'm still online.

I have an update:

Fail: I left the handle to my manual pump at home today, and I was bursting.

Win: I was able to hand express 50 mL!

Truth: It involved me hunched over the desk squeezing my boobs while at work. Good thing I have a door!

@Mae: Today was my first day at home alone with LO, too! Way more intimidating than I expected...

Win - Put LO in her bed for a nap this morning after BFing, and even though she did not fall asleep she was calm enough that I was able to take a hot shower. It's AMAZING what a difference a hot shower makes in my day!

Fail - I just could NOT get her to latch on at the breast this afternoon, even with the nipple shield (it kept coming off). I finally had to give her precious ounces of breastmilk that I was hoping to save for tonight's feedings. Oh well.

Truth - I passed up the opportunity to take a nap because I was caught up in some bad mystery show on Netflix. I'll probably regret that later!

Win - I was able to get my 10 week old to nap in his crib

Fail - I was expecting to use this time to cook some baked chicken, until I went through my pantry and realized I'm missing half the ingredients...ugh

Truth - I haven't done anything else all day, so dinner would've been my first accomplishment of the day

Win--I finally figured out why my LO has been so miserable and with a fever all weekend (ear infection!)

Fail--I gave my sick 11 month old a bite of diary/soy/gluten free cookie and she immediately threw up

Truth--the throw up got all over me, and a little in my hair. But I'd just washed it, and I'm totally not washing it again before work tomorrow. Don't care at all.

Win - made it to the pet store to buy litter and food for the cats (we were scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of what we were feeding them..surprised they didn't get sick!)

Fail - my son had a massive poop-splosion on the way home from the pet store

Truth - I watched 4 episodes of Dawsons Creek today while he napped.
