I was thinking about this on the train this morning. As much as I will LOVE to...I don't think it makes sense financially for us.
Currently I still make a good amount more than the cost of childcare for 2. And I get free family health insurance through my work. The only way it will be a financially smart option is if DH got a new job that paid significantly more than me and gets free family health insurance.
Will you SAHM with 2? Does it make financial sense to?

As the primary bread winner, it didn't make sense for me. But when our younger daughter was just over 4 months old, Mr. Jacks found a job that made sense to start work outside the home.

It doesn't make financial sense for me to stay at home, children or no children. My husband make about the same and as long as we are able, we will work.

No and no!
Plus....maternity leave is boring. I dislike not having a routine or adult talk. I would not like being a SAHM. I have way too much time to kill during the day

I plan to if our finances will allow for it. I'm SAH starting next month (T is 1) and probably won't go back until #2 (not yet pregnant) is at least 6 months old.
I think as they get older there is so much more to do with them at home and am excited about it.

yes. when #2 gets here, i'm not going back to work for probably at least a year. i'm nervous about it, but, I would basically be working to put the 2 kiddos in daycare(I could never ask our parents to care for a 1 1/2 year old and a newborn, even though i'm sure they would) and even though I work at home now, it's becoming increasingly difficult with a 1 year old, so i'm sure it would be even harder with 2

By the time DH reaches his earning potential (covers my salary and then some) our children will be in their late teens, so no SAHM for me.

Yup, this is me now. While I made more than childcare for 2 kids, it's just so much easier to stay home! I feel like my quality of life is better so it is also better for my family. Priceless!

Unlikely, but I'd love to drop to a reduced workload. We'll see if that's an option when we are ready for number 2!

I'm also the primary breadwinner, so it doesn't make sense financially for us either. DH could technically stay home, but I can't even tell you how much I would resent him for it (I REALLY would like to SAH). We have free childcare (family) and I WAH 2 days a week, so it's as ideal as it could be with us both working.

I don't even work...when I do, it's temp part time. I work with a mission organization when I do. My DH makes enough for us for me to not work, and paying for daycare so that I can work doesn't make sense for us. Even now, paying for after school care for DS doesn't make sense, unless I can get a great full time job...which I really can't. I was planning on continuing to SAH when LO was coming.

I was a WOHM with #1 and started staying home full time once #2 was born. I didn't really make the decision based on finances; yes, I was still bringing home money after childcare (not a ton, but some), but me working didn't make sense for our family plans. I knew I would be transitioning careers soon, and we also made the decision that we wanted to relocate before that happened, so it didn't make a lot of sense for me to keep working while all of that was going on. But we always knew me being at home would be temporary (we can live off of DH's salary but I need to work in order to send the kids to private school) and now that I'm nearing the end of my SAH journey, I'm happy with where we're at. It's been good to be at home, but it will also be nice to go back to work in the next 12 months.

I'm not sure. I make more than costs of daycare. I don't know how much it'll be for two in daycare and if it's worth it for me to SAH versus working.

I'm part time with M and I hope I could do the same when we have a #2. My health insurance is very affordable for the family and it's nice to keep my options open in terms of work. Two days / week at work makes me feel like a SAHM even though technically I'm not.
