For those who don't have the backstory on my LO, we took custody of him six months ago and he was on a formula-only diet at age 2, drinking only from a bottle.

Through early intervention and our work at home, he has come leaps and bounds but we're in a lull right now, and our speech/feeding therapist wants us to stop relying on old favorites and push/challenge him more.

Right now, he eats things like pasta, rice, couscous, yogurt, bananas, all kinds of nut butters, cottage cheese, oatmeal, ice cream, hummus, avocados, and recently chicken and shrimp chopped into small pieces.

He's just now starting to learn how to chew and we're slowly working on veggie stix (the chip things) to get him to get the motion down. But the therapist has asked me to not rely on yogurt and nut butters (his favorites) just to ensure he will eat at daycare. I usually send like a rice/pasta, banana + PB and a yogurt.

So what's the "next step" aka the in between of crunchy foods and purée-like textures?
