When I toured LO's daycare, they showed me the yougest infant room and said that that would be the room where she'd start. They said she'd move up to the next room (2) once she started crawling, and room 3 once she started walking.

Well, I took her for a trial day last week and they put her in a room with babies 1 year+ (room 3). She is 3 months old, so she was the only baby in the room not walking and not getting a tray of food. She was laying on the floor and all the other babies were teetering all around her, falling next to her, laying on her, etc. They were also all eating solid food. I asked if that was going to be her permanent placement and they said yes, but that the oldest babies would be moving up soon. I was not happy about that and asked the director what was up. She said the staff were misinformed, that my LO would be in the youngest room...

Today I dropped her off for her first day and they put her in the same room again (room 3). This time there were only 3 kids in the room and one was also 3 months. The others were older though. I said that per the director, I thought she was going to be in the baby room. They said no, but if I wasn't comfortable they could try to make the switch. I asked them to please try. This was partly because when I dropped her off, the teacher told me when they'd be putting her down for 2 naps, one at 10 and the other at 1... I told her she usually takes 3 naps and I put her down whenever she seems tired but gave them a rough schedule. I know that the infant room where I thought she was going did not have group nap times, which I think might be best at this point.

Anyway, they called me and said that they could switch her in two weeks since it bothered me... I feel like I'm being difficult, but I told them, yes, please switch her. I just feel like she'd be better off with babies her own age. What do you think??? Am I wrong about this? I think a mixed age group would be fine later on (and maybe positive), but at 3 months, I feel like maybe it's best for her to be with other young babies.

Also, she had a cubbie in room 3, but it did not have her name on it yet and I couldn't find some of the things (coat, noise machine (box from the travel sleep sheep)) that I dropped off last week. They did have her diapers and wipes though. Annoying!

So far I'm not loving this whole daycare thing.
