Dh and I have been touring daycares, and we found one that we felt good about and is willing to be super flexible with us as far as her starting FT until we find a nanny, and then going PT once we find a nanny - agreeing to whatever mix of days work best for us.

We discussed it at length and I was fully prepared to enroll LO, and then after doing some more random googling for reviews (all of the reviews I read previously were very positive), I happened upon a news article about this daycare having an incident where a daycare worker popped a 4 yr old in the mouth (obvs there is not supposed to be any hitting or spanking AT ALL), and hit her hard enough that her lip bled. The daycare promptly contacted the parents and DSS, and they fired the worker immediately. They alerted all parents immediately of the situation. I read a statement from the daycare saying that they run background checks on every employee and pride themselves on safety. What bothers me the most is that it was pretty recent, July of this year. I feel like they did everything they were supposed to do, and ultimately this bad person was fired, is gone, and faces criminal charges so that it WILL show up on her next background check. I know this person could have technically ended up anywhere. But, I'm still hesitating....

The only other day care we really liked has a wait list.

Would you still go with a daycare that had a similar incident if they acted accordingly?
