@Purpledaisy: I need to look into it again for when I have #2. But at that point it was a new job and I was nearing the end of my pumping so I didn't want to ruffle feathers.
But a board member looked it up for me a while back and I don't think they are required in my state. But I plan to verify before I have a second.

At my client site, restroom was also my only official option. However, some of us moms banded together and demanded the facility manager to set us up a room, which was heavily utilized so I still had to use the restroom. The law was fulfilled because there were other facilities on site to pump, but they were in other buildings.

I think in some cases, the person who says something like this is trying to be helpful. I mean, we're moms and this is what we're focused on, but not everyone else is. They don't realize that the suggestion is akin to preparing your lunch in the bathroom!
