I was induced with DS. He was born a little shy of 4 hours after they put my IV in.
It was quick!

I was admitted at 4pm, ate a meal, started cervadril at 6pm and gave birth just before noon the next day. We brought DVDs but I wanted no part of them. I would say put on a little makeup and make yourself look nice. That was one big advantage of my induction. Have a safe and happy birth!

@regberadaisy: I went into labor at 2am-ish with M. She was born 2:02pm! Right around 12 hours total.

With J I was 39 weeks 3 days. We decided to induce because I was in crazy pain, 3cm dilated, 90% effaced and my mom was scheduled to leave 2 days later. We needed her to stay with M while we were at the hospital.
I just got pitocin for about 2 hours and didn't make much progress. Things moved super fast after my OB broke my water. I was ready to push before my epidural kicked in!
My labor experience was so much more pleasant than my first. It was nice being in control and I remember so much more too.

I got cervadil at about 5am, started pit about 9am, Dr. broke my water at 1pm and M was born at 5:07pm.

I was 36 weeks and induced for pre-e and HELLP syndrome. The nurses thought my labor was probably fast because I was getting pretty sick and baby really needed to come out.

I was induced at 41+2 at "barely 1" and 50% effaced. 1st cervadil in at 10am, 2nd cervadil at 2pm, water broke (on its own) at 4pm, pitocin started some time around then, epidural at 630pm and foley bulb in shortly thereafter (2cm at this point). Foley bulb fell out at 8 (means I was dilated to 4cm). At 10pm check I was at 8cm and they thought I'd deliver by midnight because I was progressing so fast, they actually turned my pitocin down.

Unfortunately when they checked me at midnight I was swollen back to a 7 and they could tell at that point that LO had gotten wedged into my pelvis and was putting so much pressure on the back of my cervix that it was swelling. We spent 3 hours trying to turn her but it just wasn't happening and her heart rate was going wonky so I ended up with a c-section at 4:30am.

If LO hadn't gotten stuck I feel like the whole thing would've been super fast/relatively easy. (turns out she was sunny side up and tilted-- took 2 surgeons to pry her out of me and she had a dent on her head!)

I was induced at 40+3 and it took 18 hours. They starting with just breaking my water, then after about 10 hours they started me on pitocin to help things progress faster. We didn't bring anything special really, just the usual stuff we planned to bring anyway to keep us occupied.

@regberadaisy: I was sitting at 3cm when I was induced for baby 2. I think you'll be surprised, second babies are usually pretty quick!

With my second child, I was induced at 41 weeks, 2 days. My OB started with breaking my water (no pitocin, etc.) and my contractions started immediately. Baby was born 4.5 hours later!

I was adamantly against being induced (fear of c-section) and tried every "natural" method to bring on labor, short of castor oil. I finally gave in to my doctor's recommendation of induction (after the longest 9 days of waiting!) In the end, my body was ready, even though I wasn't psychologically there. It all turned out ok!

I was zero dilated, no progress, baby high. (First, only baby)

15 hours overnight of cervical ripening, then contractions started and dilated to 10 cm after 6-7 hours of contractions. Never had to use pitocin.

I was induced with DD.. it didn't take that long at all.. I think we went in to have an office visit around 1pm, and OB broke my water.. they admitted me around 4, I got pitocin, epi, and DD was born around 9-10pm... this was 1 day before my due date.

36 hours from being admitted to lo being born, but I was just over 37 weeks so I wasn't dilated at all and she hadn't dropped. I also was on pit 12 hours before an epidural-- i went from a 4-10 in 5 hrs after getting an epi! I wonder if it would have been faster if I got it sooner so that I'd relax. But, contractions were really only bad for a couple hours before the epi

We also had a great induction!! After going into labor naturally with my first, we were induced a week early with my second due to GD (my doctor's policy, I was toooootally ok with it). I was admitted around 8am, had a bit of a wait, got into my labor room around 9:30-10am, got started with pitocin and ate a meal, and my daughter was born at 7:45pm!

I was 3cm dilated for weeks though!

ETA: I watched a couple of movies on netflix as I waited, until the pain got to be too much!

I was admitted for low amniotic fluid at 38w 5d. They started cervadil at 5 am on Thursday and I had to have three rounds. They started Pitocin at 3am on Saturday and I was ready to push at 10:30am. LO was born at 11 am.

We took our iPad to watch movies on and my Kindle for when I was tired of that. Because I had been admitted for low amniotic fluid, I had to wear the fetal monitor the whole time and it would only pickup the heartbeat if I was lying flat, so I couldn't really do anything like cards where I would have needed to sit up.

I had cervidil at 9pm or so. Then slept there overnight. That didn't do much for me.

Pitocin and breaking my water (I was about 75% effaced and maybe a fingertip dilated at this point) happened the next morning around 7:30am and she was delivered at 8:42pm. So about 13 hours from start to finish if you don't include the overnight (which was almost pointless but whatever).

She was my first baby, at 41 weeks. I just showed up at the time my OB's office told me to, but I think I called to confirm with them that day anyway.

I was induced for my first baby at 41 weeks. I had zero signs of labor...no contractions, no effacing, etc. Cervidil on Tues night, another dose the next morning, got contractions in the afternoon, started pushing for 3ish hours at midnight and I ended up with a C-section in the end.
