I used to get way more comments when my LO's were younger, about everything I should/should not do. Things like: I should stop breastfeeding, when will I start solids, why do they still sleep in my room and when will I pacifier wean. I really haven't heard much else lately, some genuine questions from friends but not people trying to parent my kids.

I recently stayed at my IL's while DH was out of town on interviews, and was a captive audience to my SFIL's depression and anxiety. He's unemployed and at the house all day, and had something to say about every.single.thing. that happened. Never again. Some classics -
Wow, he didn't nap very long did he?
So he just doesn't listen when you say things huh?
Wow, you're being so nice to him when he acts like that.
Why are you so overwhelmed? Is it the lack of sleep or what? -
My son sucks his fingers, and twice I have had people (one a total stranger in a store, one a lady I vaguely knew at church) pull his fingers out of his mouth and say to me "You shouldn't let him do that!" I was so furious and didn't know what to do.

My mom recently told me that we have too many routines. This was in reference in how we put DS1 in bed. Honestly, I find him pretty easy to put to bed.

This was a while ago, but SIL told me the reason LO doesn't talk is because I taught him to sign. I'm still having trouble forgetting that one!

DD is 11 mo and still learning how to walk, she we haven't transitioned her to rubber soled shoes yet. She wears her leather moccasins. The one time we're at church where she was cruising around (it's like the most she's ever walked in 1 time period), this dad was like "she's walking! those shoes won't do! she needs better shoes!"
And a lot of "oh..." comments about us co-sleeping.

Just never a good comment for anyone to say, but I'm 36 weeks pregnant and have a 2 year old. Tired is my normal. F--- off.

I was outside, in the street with LO, guiding him toward the sidewalk, when a neighbor came around the corner. He didn't come anywhere near us, it wasn't like he almost ran us over or anything, but he felt the need to roll down his window and act like he had. We were three houses down from the corner, on the opposite side of the street from where he was driving, and only a few feet from the grass. It took everything in me to not flip him off when he was like "wow, LO really gets away from you!" And then went on about how he almost hit us. We live in a quiet neighborhood, on a cul-de-sac, not on a busy highway.

DD out to lunch last week was not wanting her straw cup of milk and kept pushing it away
A lady I know (friends with my friend) says "She is almost one you're not still breast feeding her are you?"As her child age 2 1/2 sits there with a paci in its mouth?!?!
never judge or think these things but at that moment I did!!!!!

I get shit about sticking to his schedule. "Oh he'll be fine just this once!" Except that "just this once" is every other week.
No thanks, I'm not dealing with a screaming baby who missed his nap/bedtime by multiple hours. This comes from family members without children (yet). I'm sure if I didn't have him on a schedule I'd get crap for that! People are always going to have something to say; I've learned to let it roll off my shoulders! -

@Winterbee15: I have gotten a lot of crappy about our pretty strict routine. But you know what? H E asks me to go to sleep now and is incredibly easy to put down to sleep. So whatever. Our routine is totally worth it.
I made the mistake of telling a co-worker (her son is 20 now) that I was reading a potty training book and she went into depth about how I need to potty train... uh thanks but that's why I'm reading the book!

just more anti-BF comments from my DH's side of the family.
"You know that she's fussy because you're nursing, right?"
"Good thing she didn't get hungry in that tiny coffee shop, that would've been gross if you had to whip your boob out so close to so many people."
"So and so didn't breastfeed and her baby never cried."
"Did you ever ask your husband if cares that your boobs basically belong to your children?"
If you can't tell, my in laws are pretty anti breastfeeding. The comments that have come out of their mouth are absolutely astounding.....

Somebody at work asked when I was due and when I said March she said "Wow! I guess you just look so big because you're thin?" I'm....not really sure how to respond to that, lady.

Wow, I'm surprised to hear about all the anti-breastfeeding comments. Maybe it's because my DH and I both come from families where it is the norm, or maybe it's that we live in the very socially liberal Bay Area, but I've never received anything but positive reinforcement for breastfeeding, even though my son nursed until 2.5! I'm so sorry you have to deal with that, mamas!
