I'm feeling pretty old today and, apparently, looking the part!
Have you gotten any recent comments about your looks/age?
My boss walked into my office this morning with this gem:
Boss "Uh oh, you look tired and pale today"
Me "We had a busy weekend with a couple long drives. I am tired"
Boss "You're getting old, can't do that kind of stuff like you used to"
Me "thanks.... "
I think at lunch I'll go buy myself all the anti-ageing creams to feel better.

This am while dropping Dd off at daycare:
Random mom: wow - you're still pregnant?! you look exhausted already and baby isn't even here yet!
I'm due tomorrow, and yes I'm exhausted.

@avivoca: UGH. I feel you. I will only look more tired as the years go, it's in my genetics for dark under eye circles. I will be using ALL the concealer, too. I should probably be wearing it already.

@Charm54: Uh.... what mother doesn't know that the last few weeks of pregnancy are misery? I was way more well rested with a newborn than I was at 40 weeks pregnant. F U random mom.

I haven't gotten comments but dh had to take a class at a community college and regarding his age, a girl told him: "oh that's not THAT bad!"...he's about to turn 27.

People say the dumbest things.
Last week in a meeting, someone told me I look just like Mary Louise Parker from Weeds - she's 51 years old 
and I'm 35. I think he meant it as a compliment but still...

@Autumnmama79: SHE IS 51??? Man, she is hot. You definitely can take that as a compliment. I get what you mean though, I'm only 28 and my boss is late 60's and calling me old.

@.twist.: I too hate when much older people have made comments about my age/appearance. I remember once right at the beginning of my career a much older colleague said, "enjoy that body while you can because once you have kids it'll be gone!" So unnecessary.

Mine is kind of the opposite. I am a doula and was attending a birth last week and the midwife was...well let's just say she wasn't easy to get along with. I think she resented my presence and she kept making comments about me being "young and inexperienced." I'm 31 so...did she just think I was immature? Ugh. She sucked.

A few weeks ago when telling some friends of ours that I'm pregnant (note, the chick that made this comment to me is our friends new girlfriend/fiancé. I've only met her a total of three times and don't plan on spending anymore time with her whatsoever):
Me: I'm pregnant yay!
Chick in her late fourties: You're pregnant? How OLD are you?
Me: Um, 32.
Her: wow.

Admittedly this isn't as bad as some of the others, but not too long ago someone tried to guessed my age- 29. I was in fact carded at a restaurant and the grocery store all within the past year. Maybe I was looking extra rough that day, but man I miss the guesses that fell way under 25. BTW, I'm 33.

I have the opposite problem. People think I'm younger and I hate it. Just a couple days ago I was getting my hair cut and my husband came up to me to let me know he was leaving. After he left:
girl cutting my hair: Was that your boyfriend?
Me: That was my husband actually.
Girl: Hoooollly...
Me: ...I know I look young.
Girl: Yah, I guess so. That's why I asked if he was your boyfriend.
Me: (feeling awkward) Yeah. I'm 26. (I felt I had to justify I wasn't like 18!)
Girl: Wooow. I thought you were younger than me
Ugh. When we were on vacation a year ago I went to the bar to order a drink and the guy thought I was 17. I felt so awkward and embarrassed and told DH he had to order my drinks for me from then on.

@Shizaz: I have the same problem. I'm a doctor and frequently enter a room to talk with patients and they tell me I look 16 and basically quiz me on my credentials and life history to make sure I'm really a doctor. Since when is it polite to ask people how old they are?! FWIW I'm 30...

@Shizaz: I have the same problem. I'm 37 but I think people assume I'm in my 20s. I hate it when people younger than me call me sweetie. In fact, no one should call anyone older than 6 sweetie.
To make matters worse, my husband is significantly older than me. So people assume I'm his daughter and our baby is his granddaughter

This didn't happen to me, but last week my mom picked up DS from daycare and the daycare director (who is probably the same age as my mom) asked to see her id and said "we can just be letting any little old lady in here."

People usually guess I'm much younger than I am. Lots of "Doogie Hauser" comments because I'm in the medical field. I'm twice as old as Doogie was!! I usually just say "I'm older than you think I am..." It doesn't bother me unless they keep pressing for my actual age.

A cashier carded me and I had to put the bottle back since I didn't have my ID. She said she has to be super duper careful and she cards everyone even if they look old. ....Um. Thanks. The bag boy looked apologetic.
