You can either accept their policy or choose not to shop there. I've worked in retail. Let me tell you, it's a pain when customers don't save their receipts and expect the store to bend over backwards for them. Even with a loyalty card, it normally involves multiple parties at the corporate level to find the transaction. Doing this research is a courtesy, not a requirement. It's the customers responsibility to save the receipt or accept whatever the store is willing to credit without one. I understand that this can be frustrating for customers but it is what it is.
