    @jaguar: It feels weird to say "thank you," but...thank you! It's sort of healing to finally be on a different cycle. I bet yours is quickly approaching.

    @simplyfelicity: I really hope so too! xxx But I'm relieved, it gives me hope that this has an end soon.

    @simplyfelicity: Thank you so much! And yay for CD1!!!

    @jaguar: I hope that you also are on CD1 soon!

    @Jess1483: Yay for O!!!

    @jaguar: Good luck with your testing today! I hope af is coming this weekend! And no, I can not possibly imagine if every period were like that! I would have my reproductive organs removed if they were! lol I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that your AF is on the way!

    @simplyfelicity: My first AF came before I stopped bleeding after my d&e, so I can't say for my first one, BUT I have had a little bit of spotting before my period in the next two AF's I've had, which I never had before. Hopefully that means AF is coming for you!.............Oh, I see af came!!!!! WHOOHOOOOOOO!!!!

    It seems af is winding down here, which means time to get back to bd-ing soon. I really have no idea how people do this month after month - it's emotionally (and physically) exhausting!!!! I'm trying to focus on our normal lives instead, but it's so not my personality! It's so hard!

    @ValentineMommy: I know what you mean. When we're TTC, my whole days seem to revolve around it. Oh, to be naive and able to just flit the cycles away, shag whenever you want, and get knocked up!!!

  6. ValentineMommy

    pomelo / 5791 posts

    @jaguar: right?? It's become really all consuming and I've never been a go-with-the-flow type to begin with. Post m/c, it's definitely 1000x worse. I'm thinking I'm going to start charting, because it'll help me focus more on me and my body, rather than specifically ttc. I don't know if that makes sense, but it does in my head It will at least help me learn about my cycles....right?

    @jaguar: The metaphor does work nicely, doesn't it? What genetic tests are you having run? FX that AF comes soon!

    @ValentineMommy: @simplyfelicity: I'm glad you both enjoyed it! I was worried someone would feel I was being glib...

    ETA: @simplyfelicity: Congrats!!!!!

    @ValentineMommy: Temping/charting makes me a little crazy! Having said that...I've checked a few temps now, just to confirm that I most likely did ovulate. My tip would be: if you can do it without it adding to your stress, go for it! And otherwise, BD EOD (or whatever you prefer), should work well, too!

  8. ValentineMommy

    pomelo / 5791 posts

    @FliegepilzHut: We BDed every darn day last month and it was, a lot. Lol. I think EOD will do fine this month! And also, I'm thinking/hoping that if I can focus on the charting, it will be more positive than just focusing on complete unknowns and symptom spotting and just feeling miserable....but who knows? It will prob just drive me crazy...we'll see!

  9. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

    @ValentineMommy: Good luck! It does sort of give you a sense of control...except that there still is a little guesswork involved, to know exactly which day you did ovulate. Maybe that would be a good poll (i.e. did charting make you crazy)... Also, this could be the IF talking...

    @simplyfelicity: Hooray!!! Here's to new beginnings! this cycle

    @HappyBluebird: Thinking of you today. Prayers for quick healing. We're here for you!

    @jaguar: Good luck with your testing!

    @ValentineMommy: Yikes. I don't think we could do ED. I've always shot for every 36-ish hours before (one night, two mornings later, the next night), but our kiddo isn't sleeping well, so we're doing EOD (can't make it happen in the morning since we always have a pint-sized visitor by then). That's also why I had to stop temping, so I'm just hoping this cycle...hope it's enough!

    @FliegepilzHut: Loved the graphic! (I'm super behind with responses, but I've read it all!)

    @MaryM: I can only make flat straight things as well. I crochet. But I haven't done it in awhile. I feel the same about quilting with nice fabric.

  11. ValentineMommy

    pomelo / 5791 posts

    @FliegepilzHut: Very true! I plan to just temp and record BD and CM. Hopefully it won't drive me tooooo crazy, and more importantly, hopefully I won't have to do it for too long to get my BFP

    @Jess1483: We literally did ED for the first two years of dating (not TTC at that point). It was amazing for our relationship. But with a toddler....it's impossible. Now it's ED for the fertile time and then a few weeks off haha. We have a terrible balancing issue! It's kinda all or nothing. I keep reading that EOD is ideal though, for whatever reason. Sperm count I think? I dunno...

  12. Jess1483

    nectarine / 2641 posts

    @ValentineMommy: we've never been an ED kind of couple (we also didn't see each other every day while dating), but it was a lot more before the toddler! I've also read EOD is ideal, but it's hard not to BD when you know you are ovulating.

  13. ValentineMommy

    pomelo / 5791 posts

    @Jess1483: That was exactly my thing - I knew when it was happening, so we just kept at it! Lol

    @HappyBluebird: Thoughts and prayers with you today

    @simplyfelicity: Hooray for AF! It's nice to feel like your body is getting back to normal.
    @jaguar: no i don't use that...I'm still largely a "paper" book reader. Though I do bring my kindle on long trips. Good luck with the testing. @ValentineMommy: Charting was great to learn about my body, but during the TWW I definitely became obsessed with each temperature each day and what it could be. The last few cycles I would temp until about 3-4 dpo to confirm ovulation and then stop. @Jess1483: We BDed like crazy people while TTC#1 and it never worked. Since then, I've gotten pregnant 3 times and we had success with just doing it days 15-16-17 (I usually ovulate on 17). That's been a huge sigh of relief
    @HappyBlueBird: Good luck today.

  15. ValentineMommy

    pomelo / 5791 posts

    @Tidybee: I will probably become obsessed as well. Oh well, it's better to focus on that rather than my ridiculous anxiety!

  16. MaryM

    @simplyfelicity: YAY!!!!!

    @jaguar: Good luck today!

    @ValentineMommy: I find charting makes me *less* neurotic, but I realize it's a "to each their own" kind of thing. But I almost NEED that scientific proof of what my body is doing to calm me down.

    When DH and I got KU, we weren't even trying. And I'm pretty sure we only DTD ONE TIME in my fertile window (I wasn't charting accurately then, you know, since we weren't trying).

    It drives me absolutely batty that now that we're having more sex we're having less success!

  17. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

    @HappyBluebird: Best of luck today

  18. ValentineMommy

    pomelo / 5791 posts

    @MaryM: That's exactly how I'm thinking I will be - less neurotic with scientific proof of what my body is doing. I'm really freaked out that we got pregnant both times on the first try, without really trying very hard, and now that I NEED it to happen, it didn't happen.

    @Jess1483: @ValentineMommy: @Tidybee: @MaryM: Thank you very much for the thoughts! It was nice to come home to!

    I am home and feeling pretty good considering the circumstances. The pre op nurses, this new dr, and the recovery nurses were so incredibly nice and understanding. I couldn't have asked for anything more from them. Physically I feel not too bad, a little crampy but not as bad I was expecting. I have some meds in case they get any worse. I've been sleepy and allowing myself to sleep today, tomorrow, and this weekend.

    Thanks again for such a nice welcome to this board and the support!

    @ValentineMommy: I charted when we started TTC and I was someone who actually liked seeing all the data. However, I don't know if I will do that whenever we try again. We will see when the time comes.

    @HappyBluebird: Glad you're doing well! Might consider taking some ibuprofen "just in case"...It seems to work better than the heavy-duty pain meds anyway.

  21. HappyBluebird

    clementine / 957 posts

    @FliegepilzHut: thanks for the tip! I have some motrin, the Dr said to take 600-800mg if I wanted to do that instead of the heavy duty ones.

  22. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

    @HappyBluebird: Exactly. Even if you don't feel like you need any today, you might take a dose at bedtime (with milk or a small snack), so you don't unexpectedly wake up with cramps.

  23. HappyBluebird

    clementine / 957 posts

    @FliegepilzHut: this sounds smart, I don't want to take medicine if I don't need it but also don't want to wait until the cramps get bad and regret it. Will definitely take some before bed, thanks again!

  24. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

    @HappyBluebird: You're welcome! I didn't do this last time and definitely regretted it...

  25. Tidybee

    nectarine / 2834 posts

    @HappyBluebird: my second D&C I was almost 10 weeks along, and I had cramping but not until it was time to go to bed. My first one at 7 weeks, I had zero cramping. Maybe take a little motrin before bed to let you sleep a little sounder.

  26. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

    @ValentineMommy: Definitely, I learned so much about my cycles when I first started charting back in 2010. Basically self diagnosed myself with PCOS and bam, guess who was right? Also, every day? HOLY CRAP. I have my legs firmly shut after reading that, you guys are crazy!

    @FliegepilzHut: Hubby and I both have to have karotype testing for translocation issues, to see if we have the possibility to get trisomy issues again in the future, or to tell us if it was a one off random thing at conception with the last pregnancy.

    @Tidybee: Oh, goodreads is just a recording device/app - I still read mostly paperback too, with the odd Kindle thrown in!

    @HappyBluebird: Rest up, love. We're here whenever you need us.

    As for me, I caved at 11dpo... negative pee stick (of course) .... now frustratingly waiting. Please let AF come soon. I just want to get started.

    @jaguar: you're not alone. Either DH or I end up injuring ourselves if we attempt ED! Guess that's what we get for marrying older? Lol

    FX AF shows up super soon (or not at all!)

    Blood test results in from yesterday (not the genetic stuff, that'll take forever).

    Progesterone was at 11 for 10dpo... showed I'd ovulated. hcg zero. No magical baby for us.

    Now we wait for AF.

    @HappyBluebird: So glad you're doing well. Take this weekend to relax and treat yourself with something! Ice cream would be my choice

    @jaguar: Yup - every single day! Lol I think we're going EOD this time. See if that does the trick. At least I'll get more sleep than last month! And don't worry - that magical baby is coming soon, I know it! I'm sorry it wasn't this month though

    @HappyBluebird: Thinking of you today.
    @ValentineMommy: I am exhausted thinking of that much BD-- go you! I totally understand the conflict between wanting to be chill and wanting to be in control. The one month I didn't use OPKS and just looked for other signs, I was so stressed. The month I used the CBE OPKS was the most chill. Took the guess work out of it.

  35. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

    I thought I was being chill this month (I only used cheap OPKs and only a few days instead of twice a day from CD8 to O)

    But now I'm on CD17 (I usually O around 14...but could have sworn I did on 13 based on a nearly positive OPK and cramping) and I STILL don't have cross hairs.

    Thanks god I go to the doctor in less than a week. I have a feeling my hunch of low progesterone is just getting worse...

  36. simplyfelicity

    cantaloupe / 6634 posts

    @MaryM: I know absolutely nothing about temping, but I hope you get some answers at your appointment.

    My GP wanted to know if I want to have some testing done for recurrent loss...she said they normally wait until 3 but I have a good relationship with her. I'm not sure since both of my losses were so different (one was a CP at 4 weeks and the other, as you guys know, a 10 week BO.) Not sure what to think...

    @FliegepilzHut: Thanks hon. We won't know those ones for another 3-4 weeks, I'm just hoping they're ok. A bit nervous now.

    My plan: period (check! yay!) and then letrozole/femara days 2-6 ... hopefully O and then transfer our frozen embryo at 5dpo, provided it thaws well. Fingers and toes crossed.

    @Jess1483: *hugs*

    @ValentineMommy: Every other day is still a lot - but much more manageable. I read it's better for the dudes to have a break in between to be able to generate new healthier swimmers! I hope you're right. x

    @MaryM: Frustrating. You could just be having a late O... but either way, that's when charting is good - because you can take that info to your dr when the time comes.

    @simplyfelicity: Hmmm. That's a tough one. Do you WANT to go down that road yet? I suppose it's a question of whether you need that information, or not, just yet, you know? I'm glad you'll have something for your anxiety too. Remember, here any time you need a chat.
