@MaryM: Hopefully it's just a wonky cycle...although if you're pretty sure you ovulated... Hmm... Do you think your OB would be willing to do a CD #21 lab to check this month, just in case?

@jaguar: Yay!!! And gosh that's soon! Everything crossed for you! Have you transferred 1 at a time in the past?

  4. FliegepilzHut

@simplyfelicity: That's a very tough call... Which way are you leaning?

  5. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@FliegepilzHut: I'm hoping so. My appointment is conveniently on CD 22 just in case

  6. FliegepilzHut

@MaryM: That is definitely convenient! Have you temped before? I hope you get some good answers from your upcoming appt!

@FliegepilzHut: yep. I have charts from February to now to take along too

I learned to chart 3 years ago, but wasn't super dedicated to it until we started trying post MC

    @jaguar: Thank you.
@FliegepilzHut: I am leaning more toward holding off (hopefully indefinitely. ) My losses were so different that I don't see a pattern. My GP agreed, she just wanted to give me the option. If anything, it's nice that an OB who doesn't even know me is willing to test after 2 and my OB won't until 3.

@FliegepilzHut: We only ever transfer 1 embyro. Our clinic firmly believes in Single Embryo transfers.

@MaryM: I'm also hopeful you get some helpful information at the appointment. xx

@simplyfelicity: Yeah, I'd probably do the same. I mean, we wouldn't have tested ours except for the fact that it was an IVF baby & we have embryos/future embryos at stake.

@FliegepilzHut: @Tidybee: Thanks for the motrin advice. I did end up having worse cramps at night so I'm glad I was prepared and had taken the motrin before bed. Woke up in the early morning and had to take more but got to fall back asleep.

@MaryM: I hope you get answers from your appointment!

@jaguar: Yay for AF and a fresh start! Fingers crossed for your next steps!

@simplyfelicity: I'm sorry I don't have any advice about your decision but I will keep you in my prayers as you decide whats best for you and your DH

As for me, I have been relaxing and spending time with DH since the surgery Thursday. He stayed home the last two days and I'm so glad he did. We've had time to talk about how we're feeling. He's usually the strong silent type so I'm glad he's feeling ok about talking to me about it now. He felt like he had to be the one holding it all together. I think he feels a tiny bit better being able to say out loud how hard it is for dads too.

I'm gonna continue to relax for the rest of the weekend, hopefully finish up a crochet project I started yesterday, and maybe do some baking!

I've said it a million times so far in this thread so I'm extremely sorry for sounding like a broken record but thank you all so much for the support! You are an amazing group of ladies and I hope for nothing but the best for all of you!

@HappyBluebird: thanks for the update. Your weekend plans seem great. I wish none of us were here but I couldn't ask for a better group of girls!

Dd came down with a stomach bug and just as she is recovering, I now have it. So. Much. Vomit. In our house the past few days. Poor DH. I fear he is next!

@MaryM: I temped for a little less than a year religiously. It was interesting...but, in my case, unfortunately didn't help me to get pregnant. Again, hoping you get good answers! Low progesterone would be a relatively easy thing to treat!

@simplyfelicity: That sounds good! We did some looking after 2, but it's because this second (b.o.) was the result of IVF. I think it's improbable that we're going to find anything at all...but at least that will mean that our m/c risk isn't above "average" for future pregnancies. I think I would make exactly the same call in your situation...but you should definitely do whatever makes you comfortable.

@jaguar: I knew some countries and clinics strongly preferred (or even mandated?) eSET. Will this be your third transfer? FX that this embie is the one!

@HappyBluebird: I'm glad that worked for you and that you're doing well! It really is hard on the guys...but once my DH was ready to move on, he was already well on his way! I'm glad you and DH were able have some time together to talk. Wishing you the absolute best! Take care!

@jaguar: @HappyBluebird: @FliegepilzHut: I know testing after recurrent miscarriage is routine, but it's just a surreal thought for me because we have only been trying since April. I feel like SO much has changed in such a short amount of time. The reason I considered being tested is fear that I will miscarry again which could be avoided if we got tested and had treatment. I digress and am going to go with my intuition that I just got terribly unlucky twice. Thank you for the advice and support.

@Tidybee: Oh no! I hope she feels better soon!

@HappyBluebird: I'm glad you're resting up & spending the time with hubs. My man took a few days off to help, especially with Georgia, which I really appreciated.

@FliegepilzHut: Yeah, our clinic refuses double transfers (especially with blasties) because they don't see multiples as a success, due to high risk pregnancies for mum & babies. They'll only allow it for special cases - recurrent loss, age, etc. This will be our fourth transfer, total. Our first from the first cycle failed, and that was all we had. Second cycle, we had Georgia (!) and then our little boy, and now this last remaining one...

@simplyfelicity: I hope hope hope that's all it was - and you're due some fabulous luck very soon. xx

Day 2 today and I just started Femara. Gosh, I hope this works. I feel like I've been looking forward to this moment from as soon as I found out we'd lost the baby. Staying still is the hardest thing.

@jaguar: with your IVF cycle. We're all cheering for you!! I'm hoping this is the one!

@simplyfelicity: Oh gosh, I'm a "I want to know everything" kind of person, but I think in your position I'd probably wait on testing, too.

@HappyBluebird: I'm glad you're finding support here, and having a relaxing weekend with DH. Prayers for a quick recovery!

@Tidybee: Aw, poor girl! And poor Mama! Hoping you get better quickly!

I'm now 2 dpo, and trying very hard not to dwell on that... Kind of failing. I'm not allowing myself to buy a test until at least 10 dpo. I had some serious ovulation pain (I've had it other times as well), and it's lingering, which happened with my son's pregnancy, but who knows. It's obviously far too early to tell.

  22. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

@FliegepilzHut: Nope. We get some of it covered through govt health funds but we pay the rest out of pocket. Private health insurance doesn't cover much of fertility treatment over here. But we're lucky that our clinic is a budget one. It does mean we see different doctors/nurses and we do awake/twilight sedation only for EPU, but that's the only reason we can afford it.

@Jess1483: Thanks chick. I hope so too. There's a lot riding on this one tiny embryo. Good luck in this TWW! x

  23. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@Jess1483: Hoping for a successful TWW!

@jaguar: That's so rough... I'm glad there are some funds available though... Wishing you all the luck!

  24. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

@FliegepilzHut: That's why we haven't gone on holidays anywhere... always saving the $$$ for future rounds. If this cycle fails and we do another full cycle, that'll be painful.

  25. Tidybee

    nectarine / 2834 posts

@simplyfelicity: As much as I would hate for you to go through a 3rd miscarriage, I think you go with your gut. You're getting pregnant fairly easily, so i'm hoping these 2 losses forced your body to do some tweaking to let the next one stick. For some reason, I just have a good feeling about your situation, and that I do think you just had two sh8tty experiences. I'm really hoping I'm right!
Spotting has begun, so I just wait for CD1 and then it's officially TTC month #1!

@Jess1483: fingers crossed! I too have had O pain last so much longer and so much stronger since having my m/cs. I wonder what it means!
@jaguar: so glad you're on track to get back in the game! Here's hoping October is kind to all of us!

  27. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@jaguar: I am so sorry and I do understand completely (I am also stuck paying for all IF stuff out-of-pocket). I am ever so very hopeful that it won't come to that for you (or me for that matter)! Everything crossed and sending you lots and lots of good thoughts!!!

  28. FliegepilzHut

@Tidybee: Thinking of you! I'm most likely a couple of days behind you...

  29. jaguar

@Tidybee: Let's hope so! Come on October!

@FliegepilzHut: That has to be one of the most frustrating things about not being able to get pregnant naturally. One day I will tally up what Georgia 'cost' us - haha. But in all honesty, we're blessed to be able to save and afford it. I just wish people realised what we go through, emotionally, physically AND financially!

@Tidybee: Oh no!! I hope you're feeling better now!

@simplyfelicity: I agree with @FliegepilzHut: that your intuition is very likely correct.

@Jess1483: Since my MC, my o pain is serious! Every month it hurts for quite a few days - what's up with that?!? FX for you!

@Jess1483: Hope your TWW is quick and successful!

@ValentineMommy: Yes I am going back to work this morning. Yesterday was a little bit of a rough day, probably the hardest so far. I was sad when DH left for work this morning. So I'm sort of dreading going in today.

Good morning, ladies! I hope Monday is kind to all of us!

So, my temperature tanked by almost a degree this morning...so AF should be starting soon... I'm not feeling disappointed; it's kind of nice to think of things as "normal" (so far).

I hope you all have a good day, especially @HappyBluebird: !

  35. ValentineMommy

    pomelo / 5791 posts

@FliegepilzHut: I hope af is short and sweet this month so you can get back to normalcy

I started temping this morning and realized I have no idea what the temp spikes/drops MEAN lol. I guess I'll figure it out as I go along!

  36. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@ValentineMommy: The basic idea is that if your temp goes up by 0.4 degrees (above your average or "baseline" BBT) and stays there for at least 2 days, you've just ovulated. Usually my mean pre- and post-O temps are almost a full degree different (hence when I checked this AM, I got a few minutes/hours forewarning about AF's arrival). All other day-to-day variability doesn't mean much, as far as I'm concerned. BUT, you do want to temp at the same time every day and after at least 4 solid hours of sleep, otherwise your numbers will be a lot harder to interpret!

ETA: Thank you, by the way! I have plans for BCP, a hysterosonogram, and an embryo transfer in almost exactly 2 months!

@ValentineMommy: @FliegepilzHut: thanks ladies, I didn't expect this day and yesterday to be so bad. Emotional roller coaster=no fun

  38. HappyBluebird

    clementine / 957 posts

@ValentineMommy: when I was temping, it took a month or two to see what my normal was. I didn't worry too much about the differences day to day just the temp shift around O and then as long as it stayed above the coverline

Hi ladies! I just wanted to pop in after the weekend to see how everyone was. I see a lot of you had a visit from AF which is awesome! Onto the next cycle! According to my BC pack, I should be getting AF next week sometime. I have to remember to run to the pharmacy to pick up my next pack. Under a month until my surgery.

In the meantime, had a lovely weekend with family celebrating all of the September birthdays that we have. We took LO to the zoo on Friday for his birthday and he had such an amazing time. We tried to take him to a pumpkin patch that night, but no napping made him fall asleep on the way there! I don't know how it happened, but he managed to stay asleep through a diaper change and us putting him in his crib. Poor guy was totally zonked!
