Have you been bowling while pregnant. Would you go bowling?
SOme friends of mine are going bowling this weekend and invited me. I said yes whole heartedly at first but after my bout with round ligament pain yesterday and then I remembered my friend who feel several times the last time we went bowling. I'm wondering if I should go or not. I'm currently 24 weeks and will be 25 weeks by the time we go bowling.
What would you do?

I went bowling when I was really pregnant with Charlie and I was fine. Everyone at the bowling alley thought it was cool that a 8 months pregnant woman was bowling!
but i could see how it would be dangerous and slippery with those rented shoes. perhaps better to be safe?

Yeah I'm on the fence. A part of really me wants to go. My husband is really worried because I felt awful yesterday when the round ligament pain wouldnt go away and he thinks all the bending in bowling could trigger it.

I actually read in one of mt baby books that it's fine so I would go. Just take it easy!

If you're already having issues, I wouldn't go. It's just not worth the pain later.

I'd go, and play it by ear on whether to play or not. If you're having round ligament pain, then obviously, you wouldn't play. I probably wouldn't bowl with full enthusiasm and would be careful walking in the shoes, but really, you walk a few feet and gently toss a ball.

I went bowling when I was further along, I just usef a lighter ball than normal and took it easy.

I went. No big! (Except that I suuuuuuuuck at bowling so that part wasn't all that fun.)

I'd also play it safe and not go bowling. I did some heavy lifting at around 34 weeks (we were moving so I was packing some boxes) which I know I shouldn't have been doing. Well, I ended up delivering my baby a month early. I don't know if it had anything to do with the heavy lifting but with baby #2, I'm definitely not taking ANY chances!

To me, it's not worth the risk of slipping or injuring my back so I would probably go but not actually bowl. It's not as fun but at least you get to hang out with your friends, which is probably what you ultimately want anyways.
ETA: Just noticed that you are only 24 weeks, for some reason I thought you were further along. You're probably not even heavy enough to put you off balance so maybe just bowl with caution

I don't see why it would be a problem. I mean, unless you fall down a lot when you are bowling not pregnant, I don't see why you'd fall down just because you're pregnant. Personally, I'd use a light ball and be careful and have fun.

i've really wanted to go bowling but the reasons i haven't gone so far are because i didn't want to accidentally fall while throwing the ball. and i can't recall, but i thought people smoked around there, so didn't want to be around that.

@Mrs. Bee: I did the same thing! I was 7.5 months and went bowling! I was very careful though and didn't really try to hard because I was being so cautious.

Ok just as an update. I did go bowling yesterday, I was 25 weeks at the time. I did take it easy and used the lighter balls. It was fine mostly although I sucked and my score for the first game was a shocking 13!!! I got tired very quickly and started to use to guides that the kids use so I wouldnt only have to push the ball. In the 2nd game I started to feel achy on my right side where I usually get my round ligament pain so I stopped bowling. Overall it was fun, but I would advise anyone to just use the kid guides, cos then you dont have to actually throw the ball.

If I was not on bed rest I would totally go! I don't think bowling can be harmful.
