@78h2o: It is definitely a relief to finally have some answers. The surgeon today said treatment will most likely involve both radiation and chemo. His appointment with the oncologist is not for another two weeks though.

They probably have to wait for the definitive pathology report to make sure he is on the correct regimen and to let him recover from the procedure. My prayers are with your family. -

I'm so sorry... I'm hoping he gets a good treatment plan soon. If you can talk your parents into it (and you want to), you might see if they would be agreeable to you going along for the oncologist's appointment. That way the communication would be more direct. Sending hugs!!!

I'm so sorry you're going through this. The hardest part is waiting and having people not inform you, to protect you, is not helpful at all. I totally understand what you're going through right now. I'm so sorry.

I hope things go well as he begins treatment. My uncle was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer several years ago that had spread all over his body and up into his brain. He has had several treatments that have gone both well and badly. He's been a dry cleaner most of his adult life so no doubt breathing in those chemicals lead to all of this. When he received his diagnosis they gave him maybe 6 months... but it's been years now. Like I said before, things have gone both well (to the point where he was well enough to start working again) and badly as well. I hope things go well for him, and quickly!!!
