Next week, our daycare is doing a "Mommy At School" week (presumably in lead-up to Mothers Day). For each day, there are special requests and activities, such as (these are verbatim from the poster):

Monday - Mommy Drop Off Day: Please let Mommy (only) drop off the children at school today (Tuesday is the same thing but pickup)

Wednesday and Thursday - Mommy (only) to come join kids at 3:30 for a special cooking project (W) and special snack (Th)

I am really pissed off by this and am considering emailing the director. A big part of it is that I'm traveling for work next week, so I can't do any of these things. But even when I'm home, pick up and drop off are really hard for me to do due to my work schedule and the commute so my husband usually does both because of his job location and timing, and this is true for a lot of parents at our daycare. We're in a busy metro area, with heavy traffic and long commutes, and lots of us can't be at school at 3:30 no matter how much we may want to. I'm assuming that they're going to do something similar in June for Father's Day, so I know it's not intentionally exclusionary, but I'm not sure if I'm projecting my own frustration over not being there next week and feeling like my kid will be left out, or if this really does sound as ridiculous as it does in my head.
