@cheert16: Probably - apply heat to it as much as possible (I found rice in a sock and microwave it - keeps the heat in) and pump or nurse (I forget which you do) as much as you can. Massage it in hot shower and you can comb from that spot to your nipple to work it out.

@cheert16: I had one with no lump but the whole area felt bruised. I filled an old sock with rice and would microwave it and put on the area before / during nursing and pumping. Lots of massage while nursing and pumping too. Try to empty that breast as thoroughly & often as you can.

@KayKay: I ordered Magic Merlin sleep suit the other day. Ryan is basically able to bust out of the miracle blanket even while in the R&P so I feel like we will have to transition soon and I'm hoping to use the Merlin suit until his morrow reflex settles down.

@winniebee: @MrsF: I never had one with B- so this is all new to me with Emily! I pump and nurse, its on the side she doesn't like as much (I think my letdown is slower on this side) I will try the warm compresses when I get home from work!

@cheert16: I had one once, but it was hard and when I pumped, very little came out. Massaging and nursing and massaging and pumping helped for me.

@KayKay: I believe BANDDMOMMY uses one and I do too here & there

@cheert16: Yeah - I never had one with M either. I've only had the one this time so hopefully we can avoid them in the future. I'm so freaked out about mastitis that I went nuts trying to get rid of the plug. I hope you're feeling better soon!

@winniebee: hahahha yes, I agree although I still can't find a pattern!

@MamaG: that is awesome!!
I ordered a "love to dream" swaddle but I don't think A likes it very much. He seems to want his hand but can't get to it. I managed to extend his first nap to 2 hours and his second to 1.5 hours. I'll take it since it's in the crib! I can't wait for the naps to consolidate on its own.
Last night I thought he slept from 11:30 to 5:45...but I checked my phone and he had a 1:30 wake up because he was cold. Damnit!

@Freckles: way to go!! I converted a 30 min nap into a 2 hour nap today. Felt like super mom!

Is it too early for wine?? DH working late tonight and B thinks our sofa is gym apparatus.
eggplant / 11861 posts
Wine?!?!? What is that....lol Do you drink before/after a feed or give a bottle? How much is ok?
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: I have a glass of wine a night and don't time anything. But usually it's right after his 6 pm feed and don't feed again until 730/8 but actually usually give him a bottle and pump at 9. The amount that passes is so negligible....

@FaithFertility: after our last feed.. So around 9 pm I'll be uncorking a bottle

@banddmommy: well then, I'm expecting sleep to suddenly and consistently echo D's when we start using it
I generally don't worry about drinking with breastfeeding but mostly bc one drink puts me to sleep!! Ha.

@KayKay: lop I might wait for DH because I don't know how I will react...lol

Ugh, tonight has sucked. Just got home from an after-hours pediatrician appointment. Have to give Logan breathing treatments every 4 hours, keep him home, and go to a follow-up appointment tomorrow. Plus double ear infections. AND my husband had to take Xander in tonight too! They aren't back yet. Just praying he doesn't have to go to the ER.

@Adira: ohhhhh no I am so sorry to hear I hope both boys get better soon
honeydew / 7283 posts
@Adira: Oh no! When it rains it pours I hope that both of your boys are feeling better.
@FaithFertility: I have a glass of wine every night and I don't worry about the timing. According to my LC - if you're ok to drive you're ok to BF. Sounds good to me.
@Freckles: @winniebee: Nice job with the naps ladies! Tell me your secrets!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MrsF: I just haven't even thought much about it, but lately it sounds soooo good!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: @MrsF: Thanks ladies! Luckily no ER visit for Xander. He has to get breathing treatments every 4 hours too, plus steroids twice a day. But he's allowed to go to daycare tomorrow assuming he seems okay in the morning and they do his inhaler there.

@Adira: UGH I'm sorry Hope everyone gets better very quickly. Poor boys.

@Adira: oh my goodness! I hope everyone can still get decent rest!

@adira: man - hoping you guys catch a break soon! at least you should be on the mend and not worrying about whether/not to see the doc?
got both kids down solo by 730p. that's a win in my book! time for some of that wine you all were talking about earlier...
honeydew / 7283 posts
@KayKay: nice work! I hope you enjoyed your evening after the kids were asleep!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: I'm so sorry the boys are sick!!!! Hopefully the breathing treatments help.
So I think I now have an ear infection. I am still banged up from this illness and of course Ryan is having a delayed growth spurt or is making up for last week. Last night was up at 1230, 3, 545 and up for the day at 7. Jeesh.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@KayKay: You are so awesome!
@winniebee: K got a 5 hr first stretch (but really still just 2 hr sleep for me) but then she was 2 & 3 hrs. AND she adds in this one cry session everyday @ 5am!
pear / 1961 posts
@banddmommy: we just ordered it yesterday, so don't have it yet. she hasn't rolled, so we are still swaddling as long as we can!
E actually had a decent night, after almost a week of waking up 2-3x. BUT (of course there is a but!), K was up at 10, 12, and 130 with nightmares. It's always something!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@Adira: Hope the breathing treatments are helping both boys and everyone got some rest last night.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Thanks ladies! Xander seemed to be in a MUCH better mood this morning, so I think he's feeling better. He's still wheezing, but it didn't seem as bad as last night, so he went to daycare today and they'll give him his inhaler there.
Logan seems to be doing okay today. We have our follow-up appointment in 30 minutes, so I'm curious what the verdict will be.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: I was told that as long as you don't FEEL the wine, it's totally safe to nurse/pump! I drank a glass every night for a couple weeks right after Logan was born because I missed it so much!
@KayKay: Totally impressed you got both kids to bed by 7:30. I attempted to do that the other night when my husband was working late and completely failed. Just as I was starting Xander's bedtime routine, Logan woke up screaming. It was a disaster!
@winniebee: Yikes! I hope you don't have an ear infection! That sucks.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@KayKay: Go Mama!!!!
@Adira: Hope they are on the mend
@winniebee: sorry for hard night, hope you feel better
eggplant / 11861 posts
@KayKay: of course always a but.....my but is our darn dogs.....so I can't imagine another LO

Finally dragged my ass to the doctor and turns out I have a sinus infection. He prescribed amox but I'm worried it's going to kill my supply. This has been the worst 2 weeks.
