@Adira: ha. I got about 4.5 of them which is pretty good! Then he slept 3.5 more and I got all of those too.

@BandDmommy: Aww, sorry she's sick!
@winniebee: I'd say yay then! Two almost decent stretches of sleep are a win.

J has been in his crib for 3 nights now (before that he was in the rock'n'play in his own room). The first two nights were rough but last night was much better. I'm trying to follow the advice of fully committing to something for a week before deciding it's not working. *yawn*.
Unfortunately being in the crib seems to have turned him into a swaddle houdini He had never broken out of it before this week and now he's breaking out of it every night. I'm not sure if we need to devise a better swaddle strategy or whether to let him keep breaking out and see if he can sleep ok without it. He loves to suck on his fists but he's still not quite able to soothe himself with them. We swaddled M for a very long time so this is new territory for me!

@theotherstark: @snowjewelz: @winniebee: Have you girls tried the sleep suit yet? I'm wondering if that might be a good for option for J.
Forgot to mention that even though J slept well last night our smoke alarms went off at 3:30am Apparently they are all tied together so they all went off *BEEP BEEP BEEP - FIRE! FIRE!* It was startling to say the least. DH and I are running around like crazy trying to figure out where the fire was. Both kids (who are light sleepers and wake up every time I walk past their rooms) rolled around a little bit and went back to sleep! I absolutely can't believe it.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MrsF: Yikes!! Did you figure out why they were going off? Ours are the same way - they are all connected, so when one goes off, they all do. It's great for being an alert system, but annoying if you can't figure out what's wrong and it's nothing obvious!

@Adira: We think it was probably just some dust in one of the sensors or anything, but definitely scary in the middle of the night with two babies in the house! At least now we know what it sounds like?

@Adira: good to know! It's kind of ridiculous how there aren't really identifying details with it.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Miss Ariel: Yeah, I was confused at first! But there is a Copyright 2010 at the bottom. And when you go to the FDA Drug Recall page, it doesn't show up in the last 3 years, so I think it's safe to say it's an old article.

@BandDmommy: Seriously! Who still sleeps for 11 hrs congested?! Go D!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: Wow that's amazing! But sucks that you and your husband had to get up fully and run around! That has happened to me before in various homes.. Usually it's the battery!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: And I'm waiting to get the sleep suit!
We are still in 2-4 hr territory over here... I'm really trying to adjust to working & parenting.. Between the two I feel like there's zero time for anything else! Any ounce of free time goes to house chores.
DH and I are very much in need of some us time.. His bday is at the end of this month so we're planning to go out to dinner just the two of us finally!

@winniebee: Boo to the crappy naps, but I'm glad he slept for so long!
@MrsF: H breaks out of his swaddle consistently too, and hes now in his crib (in our room). He had better sleep last night, thankfully. I did order the Merlin - will let you know how it goes!

@winniebee: of course I woke at like 4 and had to make sure she was ok...lol kept listening for her to breath...lol

Daycare confirmed this morning that K can do a full roll. We have only seen back to front at home. She's trying to sit up, but I know we have a bit to go before she achieves it. She slept well last night, including the transfer from swing to RnP and diaper change.
Her cheeks are very chapped and bright red. She's rubbing them all of the time. And her hair is still falling out. Poor kiddo.

@MamaG: Wow! That's impressive! I don't think Logan's even close to much rolling. Sorry about her cheeks though - Logan whole face is so dry, he's constantly scratching at it. Been trying to remember to lather him in Aquaphor to help.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: Wow go K! My K only does front to back here & there! She is always trying to sit up but of course can't support herself yet! I didn't know baby's hair fall out! Is it so that the permanent hair can grow in?

Me..hey mom.guess what G slept through the night!!
Mom: Wow good for her see you said she napped bad yesterday told you you put her down too much, (insert laugh) now keep her up most of the day
AHHHHHHHH...
pomelo / 5298 posts
@snowjewelz: I'm not sure why it falls out. I know C rubbed most of it off the back of her head while sleeping. And it got thinner on the top. She never lost all of it, but it was certainly much less than birth for awhile. K is going through the same thing, but it seems more severe. When I scrubbed away her cradle cap last week it seemed to really start to fall out on top.

@MrsF: We had the smoke alarm problem once in C's room. Her humidifier was putting off way too much vapor near the smoke alarm. She never even woke up. Oddly enough, I'm the light sleeper and didn't wake either, DH woke me up. Me not waking up scared me more than anything once we are able to confirm there wasn't a fire in her room. Ours are not all connected, though I see the advantage of them being connected.

@FaithFertility: OMG, I think I'd just stop talking to my mom if she was like that. I'm sorry!

@FaithFertility: GAHHH. So sorry you are having to deal with that!

I'm sorry I keep talking about it....I just can't believe it at times, and I keep thinking am I over reacting? So you guys help me...lol

@FaithFertility: I'm sorry She is not even letting you celebrate G's first STTN victory!

@snowjewelz: a birthday dinner for your DH will be perfect for you guys. I bet it will be so nice to have some time for the two of you!
@theotherstark: this swaddle breaking came out of nowhere! Glad H slept better last night!
@MamaG: that's so impressive! J is nowhere near rolling. I remember M having those chapped cheeks because she was drooling so much. Vaseline was helpful.
@FaithFertility: that's so frustrating that your mom can't be more supportive and trust your judgement That would make me nuts!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: We need it! I feel like sometimes we barely talk, or we talk about the baby! We try to cuddle & chat before bed but (bad me) I honestly sometimes just want to sleep to get every min that I can get lol!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: hahahhahaha. Well I hate to say it but when Ryan naps horribly he sleeps more at night. I definitely don't agree with your mom though and try to nap him frequently
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: Also, how has your mom never heard of "Sleep begets sleep"?? The better your baby sleeps during the day, supposedly the better they will sleep at night!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@snowjewelz: my DH and I are the same way right now. It helps that we've been here before though and we know how much better it gets as they get older. Take all the date nights that you can get!

@MamaG: that's awesome she is doing so well physically!

Who was it on here that was using the zipadeezip? After watching E half-roll from back to tummy throughout naptime today, I'm convinced we will need to stop swaddling soon and ordered a zipadeezip today! K wasn't very hard to transition but she never loved the swaddle as much...and once she started daycare at 12 weeks never swaddled for naps. E is a swaddle monster!
