@josina: does big sister sleep with white noise? The waking of the older has been my fear as well. But with her white noise and closed doors she doesn't seem to hear anything.
eta: nvm, I just saw where your daughter is 12. Mine's only 3.5.

Just wanted to say I'm sorry to everyone who's been getting crappy sleep lately! There is a 4 month sleep regression, so maybe that's what a lot of these babies are experiencing?
Logan woke up at 4:00 this morning pooping. His meds for his ear infection give him diarrhea. But once he was done pooping, he just started babbling! I was like "OMG, go back to sleep!" except I had to get up and change him and then there was no way he was going back to sleep.

We actually had a good night of sleep for once. Went down around 7pm, dream fed around 10pm, ate at 1am & 3:15am them up right before 6am. He didn't try to flip over in his RnP thing nearly as often as usual. Hope this continues!
Sorry everyone is dealing with crappy sleeps, spit up & diarrhea.

@BandDmommy: At least it didn't seem to affect his mood! He was very happy to chat to me at 4:00 after he was done pooping!

@Adira: Ethan wakes up crying when he farts! Ugh.
*They are so dang cute when they smile/'talk' in the MOTN, its hard to be upset.

@josina: I agree although G is all about business MOTN if she wakes and gulps soo loud ...my DH will wake and say omg is that her????

I chickened out. I'm so tired and I think we are all coming down with something. Rock n play and swaddle it is. If tonight goes south he's going in the crib.
Sleep dust to all!

@winniebee: It's so hard to pull the trigger. I hope you're not getting sick and that you got some sleep!

Reading through and sorry for all the spit up issues! That stinks, hopefully they all put grow out of it pretty soon!!!!

@theotherstark: I keep going back & forth on this whole sleep training thing too. Ugh! Where is his crib? In your room?
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: Since K has been pooping MOTN too, I now bring all the changing stuff to our bed and change her there so she isn't AS disrupted lol! It's sooo much work!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: Kara once woke up screaming crying sooo upset and we could not figure out what was wrong.. And then she farted and all was right in the world again
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: Logan seems to poop and then he's like AWAKE and talking! I have to nurse him to get him to go back to sleep.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: Hope your night was good!
We were just okay here. The past few nights she responded well to me physically holding down her arms ifs he started to get fussy, but not so much last night! So it was a lot of nursing back to sleep, and some light rocking this morning.
And the sammmme show repeats nightly between 7:30 lol. Try getting her to sleep, nap for maybe 30 min, completely wakes up and starts her happy hour, then fights sleep till 9:30, then bam pass out.

Last night was crummy again. She lasted almost an hour in her crib with a really loud white noise app on the tablet. And then she was just pissed. We ended up giving her another bottle (which isn't normal) to calm her (screaming inconsolably for 30 minutes). Then she was pissed again with gas about two hours later. Then she lasted about 5 hours.
Just reading up on soy formula as it was a mom recommendation, but I'm not impressed with what I'm reading.
Anyone doing gas drops? They were so cheap before and seem to have become really expensive in the past 4 years!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: 5 hrs is not bad at all! I have gas drops but I don't give it to her consistently!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MamaG: Ugh, sorry about your rough night. hope things start improving for you soon. I have no advice about gas...
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: my pediatrician recommended the gerber colic drops. Apparently they are the only ones that have been proven to help.

Ryan had a really difficult time going down which is odd. But then he slept 830-230. Didn't vigorously nurse so was up again at 430. Then slept til 7. This wonder week is sort of kicking our butt - he is so difficult to please and so frustrated with everything and it's so out of character!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: awww that is hard I bet, especially when they are usually a happy go lucky babe that I know you say R is!!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
I got a 4 hour stretch last night, woo hoo! After 2 hours max the last week, it was amazing, course up every hour-ish after that.
I tried the crib last night too; he was great for a half hour on his tummy and once he started crying (for 5 min.) I rolled him over, soothed and left. Fine for awhile, cryfest for 5, soothed, left. Repeat, repeat, gave up after an hour of this and just nursed to sleep and he did 4 hours in the R&P.
I think our issue is trying to get him to bed before 9/10, he just won't have it, even though he only gets a 10 minute nap on the way home at 5:30. He finally crashed around 9:30 I think and I started around 8.

sleep has been hit or miss with us here lately. micah goes down easily but seems to have trouble staying asleep. plus he wants to use my nipples as his paci so theres that. and dude will NOT take a paci. i've tried several different kinds!
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@snowjewelz: yep - we have a mini crib in our room!
@winniebee: Sorry about the rough night. H has been fussier and harder to please too! I think he's getting frustrated that he can't sit up, move, and do things.
@josina: Yay for 4 hr!! I'm jealous
@whenoceansrise: That sounds exactly like H - he's been using my boobs as a paci, and won't take an actual paci!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@theotherstark: Is it possible for you guys to sleep in the living room when you're sleep training? Or vice versa?
@winniebee: Yep same here... We do the same dance between 7-9:30 and she goes between being angry, kinda sleeping ,waking up, suddenly really happy, then angry again!
@josina: I had contemplated just letting her stay up too since she doesn't seem to sleep before 9! But then she can't possible be up for like 3+ hrs?! And then I'm afraid she'd be even harder to put down since she'd be OT.
@whenoceansrise: at least you won't have to wean him
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@whenoceansrise: ditto. Ethan will usually take it/wants it but can NOT keep it in. Thinking about trying the wubbanub just b/c it'd be harder to fall out??
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@snowjewelz: Ethan will fall asleep nursing at 6:30 but wakes up when I put him down usually, so he'll get another 10 minute nap, but that's it. If I try having him down at 8 he'll wake up and I have to nurse back to sleep again.

@theotherstark: these silly babies! does H suck his thumb? Micah tries to and sometimes he figures it out but most of the time he just sucks on his whole hand or other fingers- then he gets mad when he gags himself with his longer fingers.
@snowjewelz: haha, true!
@josina: yeah, sometimes he'll take it and sometimes it seems like he likes it but he spits it out. and other times he gets mad when you stick one in his mouth. so weird!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@whenoceansrise: Kara gags herself too... She likes her thumb but sometimes also likes to stick her longer fingers as far in as she can!

Back in the crappy sleep club here too! M decided to wake to eat like every 2 hrs & woke DH up at 4:30am fussing. Luckily when M does that, DH brings him in the living room so I can get some uninterrupted sleep for a couple of hours.
@josina: M has 2 wubbanubs & they stayed a little better than the other pacis, but he still spit them out every 30 secs or so. (Now he hates pacis & only wants fists/fingers lol)
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
Ryan is so distracted nursing he's barely nursing today. Dibs and drabs here and there. Even a dark rooms not working. This is not enjoyable.
honeydew / 7283 posts
Man! I don't even know who to respond to because it sounds like we're all in the trenches together . This 4 month business is no joke!
Last night was tough because DH and I were arguing every time J woke up. He obviously doesn't NEED to eat that often because he'll STTN sometimes, but it's so hard for me not to feed him when he's crying. I can't really blame DH for being frustrated because I say that I'm not going to feed him until x time, but then... it's hard.
Oh, and I totally jinxed myself on the spit up. It's torrential today. That feels like such an easy problem because there's nothing I can do about it! At least I know it will get better eventually
eggplant / 11861 posts
@whenoceansrise: G hates paci too, but likes a lovey to suck on or her fingers
honeydew / 7283 posts
J learned how to effectively suck on his thumb yesterday and he's totally loving it. If it helps him to soothe himself - it's fine with me!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MrsF: oh man. It's hard not to feed them! I know when Ryan has a colloidal feed and then wakes up 2 hours later there's just no way he's hungry. But I still feed him :/. Btw how's the dairy going? Ryan's poop has been pretty green and mucousy the last few weeks but I haven't had dairy in 2 weeks (and it was just one cookie!) so I just don't know.
