@FaithFertility: Ohh! Ugh, I just never know what is due to what anymore!

@winniebee: yes! such great sleep! I didn't get to respond to you yesterday, but once J had shown that he was able to STTN I was a lot more open to letting him cry more at night. He slept through 'til 5 for a while, then started eating at 1 and 5, then changed it to 1, 3, and 5. We worked on eliminating that 1am feed and once he realized he wasn't getting fed then he skipped right over the 3am altogether and started sleeping through 'til 5. Now if he wakes up MOTN I let him cry for a few minutes and he goes back to sleep quickly. I'm happy to feed him at 5 because he usually goes back to sleep for a bit more.

@MamaG: I could have written what you wrote yesterday. I am just NOT fan of the newborn stage and I feel like we're finally emerging! Sleeping better, sitting up, solid foods, interacting with us and with his big sister - yes! Life is not easy at all but I definitely feel a sense of relief
@FaithFertility: That's wonderful that you love your ped so much! It makes such a big difference. We have a new pedi because we moved over the last year and I'm really happy with her as well.
@AngelicOne: So handsome and so alert! Congratulations on a beautiful nephew!
@KayKay: Have an AMAZING time! I'm so jealous!
@snowjewelz: The two bottom tooth grins are so cute - I love them!

Jack is 7 months today and started rolling over to his belly in the crib overnight. He's never been interesting in rolling over at all (@Adira: is my buddy in this!) and he still hates being on his tummy - so I don't really know why he wants to roll. He took a mega nap this morning on his belly though (for DH of course). New things every day!

@MrsF: Totally agree! It was hard for me to bond with K in the beginning between hormones, pp recovery, BF troubles, just this new parenting gig in general PLUS she didn't really respond to anything! Now she is SO much fun and I am so in love!

@MrsF: Oooh, exciting!!! I'm still waiting for Logan to really roll. I remember Xander really got started sometime after 7 months, so I'm hoping Logan shows some interest in it soon! He keeps getting to his side and then nothing. And he HATES tummy time because he still can't figure out how to flip back over most of the time!

@Adira: This is exactly how I would have described J yesterday. Today - totally different. These kids...

@MrsF: It's crazy how fast they can change once they figure out how to do something!

K was chasing my phone on the floor on Monday night, doing a little inch worm, bunny hop, crawl. It was unique to see. Yesterday, no crawling at all. I suspect she realized that it's a lot of work and not that fast for her (yet). She has an amazing laugh and smile. Somehow though her smile is so big that you still can't see her teeth. She was chewing a lot yesterday so I suspect the top teeth are on their way. C got her bottoms and tops about 4 weeks apart, so right on target.

@MamaG: Good to know the time frame! K has her two bottoms and I def see the top are trying to burst out!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@snowjewelz: I can't feel anything on K, but I know she's working on them. She's been grinding her gums and chewing more again.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: I had no idea how long it takes so if C had about 4 weeks in between then we're probably due soon! It's crazy how they just start shooting out!

So, one of the male vps at my company tried to walk in on me when I was pumping. Luckily I was able to pull the door shut when I saw the lock turning, so the door couldn't open all the way. I had an email from hr when I got back to my desk apologizing. But it def could have been a lot more awkward, and a lot less amusing than it wound up being.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@Miss Ariel: ugh - so awkward! I had one of our male medicine residents walk in after I finished pumping and was putting everything away and then a woman walk in while I was pumping. I always wear a nursing cover but still, kind of awkward...

Husband called from work, his partner died in a car accident on the way in
my heart breaks!
My husband and him for 2 years always drove into work together and just a few weeks ago he stopped so he could be home a little longer to help me with G and see her more!
Just makes you wonder ya know?
Please pray for this family!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Miss Ariel: Oh yikes! Thank goodness you were able to block the door before he saw anything! What kind of room do you use that he would've been walking in on? Just an office/conference room?
@FaithFertility: Oh wow, so sad! That must be really hard on your husband too, especially since they used to carpool. How scary.

@Miss Ariel: omg close call!
@FaithFertility: so terrible. I'm so sorry!

@FaithFertility: Soo sorry to hear... Prayers are with his family

@Miss Ariel: I've had so many people, male & female, walk in on me pumping.. I don't even care anymore lol

Thank you all, it rocked us! Just awful they are saying he went before crash, Possible heart attack or something
nectarine / 2210 posts
@Adira: it's actually just an empty closest. But they're currently videotaping every for disaster recovery. I guess so if a hurricane destroyed the building they'd have document of what was there for insurance. So if the door opened all the way I could have been on video even! Ha!

@FaithFertility: how sad. I'm guessing he was pretty young to be expecting a heart attack to happen?

@FaithFertility: So sorry to hear! So glad your DH had stopped carpooling, what an awful thing to think about!
TGIF I am soooo tired today, and not even E's fault this time, stupid dreams and bad cold. Ugh.

I think we are hitting a sleep regression. Sleep has been so bad lately. I've been having a hard time keeping my eyes open at work!
nectarine / 2053 posts
Also, Micah refuses to let DH soothe him back to sleep. He just cries. but the moment I pick him up and sit down to rock him, he's out.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@whenoceansrise: Ugh, sorry about the sleep regression! And kids definitely go through their parental preferences, so that's normal, though SUCKS.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
So the kids got progress reports yesterday. Logan's was for 4-8 month olds and he couldn't do most of it (rolling, sitting unassisted, treating strangers different, recognizing "mama" and "dada," following objects out of site, etc.). Oh well!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@whenoceansrise: We are in a regression I think as well.........
Sorry

@Adira: Is Logan's development consistent with Xander? Daycare assessments can make me a little stressed.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MamaG: I can't fully remember all the things Xander could or couldn't do at 6 months, so I'm not positive. I know Xander COULD sit unassisted, but he couldn't support weight on his legs like Logan can. And he wasn't really rolling until 7 months, so I'm not concerned about Logan with that yet. I can't remember what he could/couldn't recognize though. I remember at some point worrying about his hearing because he didn't really respond to his name, but I forget what age that was. And Logan does respond to his name. I'm not worried about his development yet!

Sooooo I am going back to work! I'm a lawyer and stopped working 2 years ago when we moved cross country. When we moved back I was pregnant with R so didn't get a job. I'm starting to work part time remotely for my fathers law firm (a state over). I am still working on my licensing for my current state but wanted to dust off the cob webs and figured that working from home would be a good Segway back into the work force. I am hiring a part time nanny for Ryan. A little nervous and a little sad too but I will be home so can monitor and probably won't have to pump. He's 6.5 months old and I'm ready to do something else for a bit. All kid all the time is tough!!!!
