@FaithFertility: M was sized as a 5w at the Striderite place we went to a few weeks ago, but I haven't put him in shoes yet. LOL I did get him a pair at Goodwill recently so he can walk when we go out since he has to be on the move all the time.

K has big feet and she's short She's in like 4/5! Soo many gifted/hand me down shoes she already don't fit into!
K has a slight cold, and we caught it too so we're all sick! Yay for this awful transitional weather! I'm constant debating whether to turn on the heat, turn on the AC, put another layer on her, take it of... Argggh!
I think the congestion gets to her too, she was def up between like 3:30-5:30 on and off whining.

I have no idea what size D wears, she has tiny feet. She wears size 1 freshly picked Mocs and size 2 Jaxhoo Mocs.

I haven't actually bought any shoes yet either, all hand-me-downs. I'm kinda worried about buying a pair in case he grows out of them right away! How fast do they go through sizes at this age? He should be in 3's now and I registered for 3-1/2's for birthday/christmas? Should I go larger?

@josina: In my experience, they go through them fast. C has some shoes that show very little wear. It seems like her feet didn't slow down until closer to 2.5. Even now they seem to last about 6 months before she outgrows them (that is if she hasn't destroyed them first).

K certainly has something going on. Lots of coughing and snotty nose. On top of that she's got some poo issues, including going at night, which are resulting in a pretty awful rash right now.
She started her toddler class today. Her teachers are so excited to have her. I'm also starting to think about transitioning away from formula. We bought some this weekend (sale!) and I think it will last us through the month. That will have her right at 11.5 months.
We are just struggling with the sippy cup at home and I don't really want to go on the hunt for the perfect cup. They use take and toss style cups at school and she does fine so I want to get her using the same thing at home. And bonus, they are cheap!

@MamaG: Poor sick babies!
We use and love take & toss too! Seems to leak less than the more expensive cups we have!

@MamaG: I forgot to ask the doctor about transitioning away from formula!
He also had no issue when I told him she's not drinking as much. She is chugging along her grow curve so he said it's all good. Sometimes I feel like he's TOO happy go lucky, haha. But then again, he does want to test her poo for anemia.

@snowjewelz: I have D on whole cows milk from a sippy cup. She loves it!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@BandDmommy: I should let K try then! We don't have milk in the house... None of us drink milk!

My poor baby J is on day 5 of a fever I got him to the Dr's this morning (these things always happen over a long weekend, right?) and he does have an ear infection. I'm sad that he's in pain, but glad that it's something treatable. Hopefully the antibiotics work quickly!

@MamaG: Do they use the take & toss straw cups or the sippy cups? M uses the T&T straw cups for milk. We have some of the sippies but they seem hard for J to drink out of them.
I agree that they're great though. Cheap, easy to wash!

@MrsF: It's the take and toss sippy cups that they use. We still had some from C and had grabbed another pack on clearance. But, ours are 10 oz and daycare uses the shorter 7 oz version. I think I'm going to get those and see if we see a difference.
Daycare was shocked when I told them that she won't really use the sippy at home They said she gets a hold of her sippy there and just chugs it down and isn't willing to let it go. At home it's just another toy. She also gets it while sitting at meal/snack at daycare. So we try to replicate that same routine.

Poor thing has been napping since 2 and it's 4:30 I hope she is getting better and not worse tho!!

Ohhhh no to all the sick babies, praying they get better quick!!!!!!
@MamaG: OMG same , G's sitter says she yells for her sippy at daycare and chugs it down in 2 minutes, we do same routine at home and most of the time it takes her all of her meal time or longer they know how to work us over ....lol

@BandDmommy: Just ordered G a pair of Mocs size 3 hopefully see can use them for awile

@MamaG: @FaithFertility: @BandDmommy: h drinks water out of his sippie, but never really drank bm from the sippie. I wonder if he would drink cows milk? I also need to try a straw cup with him.

@snowjewelz: I forgot to ask about that at M's 9 month too. Bad thing is, I'm using my freezer stash now and we go on vacation in a month for 12 days, so I have to bring lots of frozen milk I guess.
Hope all the sick babes are better soon!

Sounds like a lot of our babies are sick!
As for shoes - I have no idea what Logan's size is. He's no where near walking, so we haven't bought any shoes for him yet. Xander started off in size 4s though at 14 months.
And Logan can scoot for real now!! He scooted all the way from the living room through the dining area into the kitchen yesterday and then did circles in the kitchen while I was cleaning. I'm so proud of him!
Also, HFM blisters are gross. That is all.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
K is not too bad, just runny nose and I hear congestion at night. I am a pretty hot mess lol. I think I got the worst of it out of K and DH!
@Adira: Yay for the scooting and yikes on the blisters! I hope they go away soon!
Hope K eats better at daycare this week! It's funny that she has the complete opposite problem as some of the other babies about eating at daycare vs at home.

@Adira: They ARE gross. Tyler's took a solid week to resolve....he would cry anytime he was eating because it stung even his hands
Sorry for all the sick babies out there! We have had a touch of something as well. We were away for the long weekend and Ryan's sleep was horrendous. Like, newborn up every 2 hours horrendous. We were all in the same room and he kept waking up his brother and I couldn't let him CIO. So we've regressed and I need to start training again. Why can't he just figure this out on his own? I'm seriously considering completely weaning because I can't handle night wakings anymore.
Oh, and he's a size 2, but I got some 3's for winter. We have a bunch of hand me downs from his brother and cousin for now.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: Yikes I'm sorry about the sleep! We've been having at least 1 wake up, and really grumpy morning hours too, I'm assuming b/c of her cold...
She ate better today, phew! And slept 50 min (which I'm sure was on the teacher the whole time...).
What are your babies eating for lunch at daycare/sitters? I'm usually doing leftovers or some combo of fruit/cheese.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@snowjewelz: he eats the same stuff he eats for lunch with me. fruit, chicken sausage, leftover pasta, veggies.....whatever! Today he had roasted garlic chicken sausage, berries, and roasted butternut squash.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: yummy! K had chicken and quinoa with carrots/cucumbers. I added a cheese...

K is having gut issues, I picked up some probiotics today and think I'm going to try to do BRAT diet at home at least for a few days. Poor kiddo.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: Lunch is usually veggies and fruit, sometimes a puree mix and some munchies (cheese, avacado)
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
I'm seriously curious about what you would do if your baby wasn't STTN at this point....poll.
- Wean altogether
- Persist with Ferber
- CIO no matter how long it takes
- Nothing....ride it out
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@BandDmommy: instead of nursing? no....he takes a bottle just fine and has a bottle of breastmilk before bed most nights. I have like 100 oz in the freezer I can use, too.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@winniebee: it's hard for me to understand the weaning option since I don't bf. I would find a means of CIO that will work. I had to enlist DH when we did it. That's probably not an option for you. Can you enlist Grandma?
Id also be borderline crazy if K wasn't sttn. Kids not sleeping gives me anxiety.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: I am indeed borderline crazy at this point.
pomelo / 5660 posts
@winniebee: I don't see how weaning will help. My guess is change sleep training method
