@MrsF: Thank you!!!! How far apart are M and J again?! I think G is going to LOVE a baby brother!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: I totally was! We were never preventing, I track my period but AF was not super regular so I never really know when I ovulate anyway. So I was totally surprised, since last time I used OPKs and all that!
@FaithFertility: Told my parents/sister on Sat and his family on Sun! We were already talking about childcare arrangements lol.

@snowjewelz: What a fun Mother's Day announcement! Thats when we told the families with E.

@FaithFertility: My kids are 26 months apart. G is going to be such a great big sis
honeydew / 7283 posts
@snowjewelz: I don't think there's any age gap that is *easy*, but a 26 month gap has been really good for us. M was old enough to do a few things for herself but young enough to not be too jealous of her baby brother. I'm so excited for you !
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: I was gonna go for a bigger gap but I'll take this! I agree with you... And it all depends on the kids anyway! My sister and I are 7 years apart, so I was very independent but I don't think I was that helpful hahaha!

@MrsF: I think so! She seems to love babies but then again they are not living with us 24/7

G woke at 3 and 6 saying/crying "teef" glad she can tell me now!
I hate teeth!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Aww! Poor baby. K has been a mess too. Tantrums galore. Yesterday she cried and cried, didn't nap till 12:30. Slept till almost 3 so was up till almost 9:30. I was beyond exhausted. And she still woke up before 6!!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: poor baby! Our wakes are 6 ish too and I am.in denial because 90% of the time I throw her in our bed and usually get another 30-45 mins
Sleep these days is precious....lol

@FaithFertility: Awww! M has a cold / slight bit of croup apparently and he woke up a lot last night Luckily he's still sleeping until 7am or so though.
@snowjewelz: Hope she's better today!

12:20 wake up calling Mamamamma!
Man, we were back to normal! I really think it is teeth, she still is cutting those canines....
In other news we are getting sentences now, like having a kid...lol ....I'm not ready! Slow down kiddo!
Any fun summer plans?!
We have a few short FL trips planned, Naples and Orlando again!
13 more school days
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Oh no! Canines were bad for us too.
We are not going away... Just doing day trips to the beach, zoo, aquarium, etc. Want to enjoy this summer to the fullest with just K!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: wakeups suck! Ryan is teething canines as well (brought him to doc on Friday after 2 weeks of a cold and utter crankiness and the doc was like, well, he IS getting canines right now so that could explain things). He isn't waking at night, but his naps have been off. But don't worry, big brother has been waking up at night a few nights a week to complain about monsters/ he is scared.

@winniebee: Ohhhh no, always something right?! I honestly can't take the wakes with talking, saying "teef" or Calling Mama! Makes it soo much harder!
pear / 1961 posts
@winniebee: @faithfertility: i think E has been having some random nightmares, because she will cry out "NO!" or a short burst of crying in the MOTN. but it's clearly in her sleep and she never actually wakes. K, on the other hand, has been padding down to our room complaining that she is scared or that there are critters in her bedroom. i swear, someone ALWAYS wakes up, or at least wakes me up! but i secretly love it when K comes down and goes to DH's side of the bed. haha.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@KayKay: Ya know she does that too, I hear her cry for a second on top of the actual wakes but then back to sleep so hard

@FaithFertility: well just be going to the beach in Florida over 4th of July,
Dh actually is already done with classes. He has meetings this week and then commencement at the end. Although after 3 weeks off he'll be back teaching summer school, it was def not fair that he was still in bed when K and I left this morning. ha!

@FaithFertility: No summer trips planned but I'm sure we'll be busy with county fairs, the rodeo, parades, etc. So much fun to be had.
@Miss Ariel: lol, that's the worst!
@FaithFertility: @KayKay: @AngelicOne: @snowjewelz: Between teeth, nightmares, and sickness, hope you guys get some sleep!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
This summer we'll take a few weeks off to spend at the family lakehouse. Otherwise, no big plans. My husband has his final testing for surgery board certification in July so it will be a huge weight to be done with that.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@KayKay: Yes Kara has had those nightmare episodes too! She will say really random things too!
I really need to figure out a plan of action to get her into her own bed! I don't even know where to start! Probably with naps...
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@snowjewelz: Good luck with moving to a bed! I'm sure that will be just as hard on you!
E is doing really good with the potty still, has gone poo twice for me, and pees for daycare. Of course MIL is like, 'oh, DH was trained by 14 months'. I find that reaallly hard to believe! Maybe he went on the potty at 14 months first? But trained by then??
eggplant / 11861 posts
@josina: don't worry about MIL
My mom tells me we never napped at this age, were all potty trained.....LA lalalla
I think they forget
pomelo / 5298 posts
@josina: I guess it's possible to train at 14 months, but it's certainly not the average age. We didn't even start putting Chloe on a toilet until after she was two. She really led the process when we started actually "training" closer to 2.5 years.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: I would just go for it, she might surprise you!
Maybe rock her to sleep or pat her down at first
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Haha, there is no way they remember! Whenever I ask my mom what she did, she said she has no idea!
I think K will see her potty as a chair for a long while, haha. I kinda don't mind the diaper stage except for the cost. It's so "easy"! She never cares about a poopy diaper, never leaks, rarely rashes...
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: lol, yeah I'm sure her memory is foggy by now.
@snowjewelz: Our problem is at home is that E wants to sit on the big potty when he goes... or crawl INTO it. ha ha.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@josina: Have you considered getting the ring for the seat at home? That's all we ever used for Chloe, we never had the small separate potty.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@josina: G's sitter starts at 18 months if they show signs so I guess we will be trying soon
I'm happy it will be during the summer too!!!
I'd LOVE to be 100% come October
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@MamaG: Yeah, I was thinking I need to do that! Should've ordered today dangit, I just placed an Amazon order.

WTH?! Bed at 7:45 up at 9,10, 12 by that point I gave Tylenol but nope up again at 2 I put her in our bed Still was crying off and on ALL NIGHT!
Ears?! She woke at 6:30 happy as a horse, but does sound congested!
Gahhhh sorry for the rant...... but Man kid!
pear / 1961 posts
@faithfertility: ugh! rough night! definitely could be ears -- with lots of kids that's one of the main symptoms. so frustrating!
speaking of ears, E started acting crazypants yesterday morning around 930a...super-clingy, crying for 15min straight, just general weirdness, although no real fever or sick symptoms. i decided to take her to the doc right away, since it just seemed really out of sorts for her...and I didn't want to wait until afternoon and mess-up her nap or interfere with preschool pick-up. definitely an ear infection, and the doc also scraped out a huge glob of wax. got amox, and all seems better today. i think we'll end up with tubes at some point -- it's on my list to talk with her regular ped at her 18m check-up. this is her 4th diagnosed ear infection since november (so in 6m), but she is usually asymptomatic (2 of them were found at well-checks...), so it's likely she has had others that she cleared on her own as part of colds/viruses. we'll see!
@mamag: how have tubes worked out for you guys?
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: Rough night! And you can't even load up on caffeine. Eek.
E was up at 12 last night so just brought him into bed... man that kid is a horrible co-sleeper, lol. He tosses/turns/kicks us so much I don't know how hes even getting sleep.
@KayKay: I've wondered too with E if he's had more ear infections, but we haven't caught any since 11 months (and he was clear at 3 or 4 dr appts); his only symptoms were not taking bottles. Great job momma for knowing something was wrong right away!
