@KayKay: I don't want to jinx myself (putting that out there universe!!) regarding the tubes.
They seem to have worked really well for us. Between the end of October and getting tubes at the end of December I can't even tell you how often we were at the doctor or urgent care. It was pretty much every 10-14 days. Since then we have been exactly two times. Once for a re-check on the tubes to make sure they were working post-op. And the other was our 15 month well visit!
At our 15 month well visit our pediatrician also recommended starting allergy medicine daily (either Zyrtec or Claratin). This combined with the tubes has been a total game changer for us. K has a cold right now, but so far we are getting through it okay.
K also has really waxy ears. She has thick dark brown wax. I try to clear what I can see on the outside of the ear canal.
Our ENT wasn't confident that this would be our only set of tubes given her age. They usually last about 10-12 months. We will do it again if we reach that point of her getting ear infections when the tubes fall out. I've heard too many stories of kids needing 2-3 sets of them.

@FaithFertility: K has cold too, I totally blame our roller coaster weather. Geez, it's May already, get it together!!! I'm sorry she was up so many times! I can barely deal with K waking up before 6.
@KayKay: I hope she will get tubes if it makes her feel better! Sometimes I wonder if there are ear infections we just missed and cleared up on their own too...

K didn't have a great morning either. About 30 minutes before my alarm went she decided it was time for me to get out of bed. She was standing on the side of the bed pulling on my hand screaming. But she was morning than happy once I said next to the sink and let her play with a box of tampons! Ha!
Although since we were up so early not only was I early to work but had time to stop at panera. Although I'm not sure where I'm going to find the energy to get through the rest of the day.

@Miss Ariel: waking up before 6am, we're still rushing out the door at 8 hahaha.

@josina: No but thankfully I had a PD day this morning (meeting) and decided to use the last of my comp time and took the rest of the day! Nap in near future!!

@FaithFertility: sorry about the crummy sleep!
@josina: I started by seeing if h wants to go pee pee on the potty; I just kind of hold him onto the seat. We don't have a little cover seat yet, although I think he would like one.
@MamaG: so glad the tubes are working so well!!
@Miss Ariel: sorry about your crummy sleep too! Sucks.
@snowjewelz: I always wonder if I'm not catching ear infections too.

@KayKay: ugh. I'm glad you brought her in and got some meds! Poor thing.

I'm so sorry for all of those who have been getting crummy sleep lately, but, since H's sleep has been absolute crap so long, I need to brag again (already posted about it on fb. Sorry for the repeat ) - H finally slept through the night! Finally!! His sleep has been getting so much better lately, and last night he finally slept from 7:15 to 6. Woot!! Hopefully this continues, although I'm annoyed because we are going out of town for a wedding this weekend, and I know it's going to muck everything up. Oh well. Progress!
On the suggestion of a friend (thanks @chicalgobee: !!), I started putting h on the potty to try to pee. He has been super interested, will point to his junk when he is peeing in his diaper, and loves the part in llama llama nighty night when he uses the potty (that book also made sleep training possible, I swear!). So, I thought why not. And he has peed every time I have tried! it's so funny, and he is so thrilled by it. Ha. I don't have plans on any kind of training in the near future, just put him on there when he's getting clothes changed, before bed, etc.
How is everyone else doing?

@adira: I meant to ask - how are things going with the allergies? Have you had any follow ups about L's allergies? I think he had nut allergies? or maybe in my lack of sleep haze I am misremembering.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@theotherstark: so happy you guys are all getting sleep! What did you end up doing? And so cute with the peeing!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@theotherstark: You're not misremembering! He's allergic to peanuts and we're assuming at the moment that he's also allergic to tree nuts. We haven't had a follow-up with the allergist for his blood test yet though. Xander has an allergy appointment next week, so I'll try to schedule Logan's follow-up during that appointment. He last went in July, so he's due for a follow-up in a couple months. Thanks for asking!

@theotherstark: Yahoo SLEEP! I'm so glad H is finally sleeping for you. I hope you are feeling better rested. Hopefully the weekend away is only a minor setback.

@theotherstark: Awesome you're finally getting sleep!!
E does the same thing when peeing, pointing to/grabbing his diaper, of course I have never gotten him to pee, but daycare has.
I'll have to get that book!

@theotherstark: Just catching up here - I'm so glad that sleep is getting better for you finally! Hopefully he does well despite the weekend plans.

What's the level of crankiness going on right now? I swear Ryan cries and fusses all morning long. I'm not sure if it's just that he really needs 2 naps still or he's gotten used to fussing for what he wants. He is driving me crazy. I can't do anything without him fussing for me to hold him.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: sorry G is pretty good, her only thing that drives me bonkers is if we are home she asks to "eat" all the time, I mean I give her apples, cracker then she eats a piece is done but wants in highchair again
pear / 1961 posts
@winniebee: yuck! E is generally only like that if she is sick (if the fussiness/clinginess is extreme) or if she is bored! we had a week of crappy weather last week, and the mornings where K was at school with just me and E home were a bit brutal -- it's like she doesn't know what to do without her sister to antagonize (or be antagonized by!). she's going to "school" 3 mornings/week this summer, and it can't come soon enough! i think she's ready.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@KayKay: he's absolutely great when I play with him or if we are outside. It's inside from like 6-8 before it's appropriate to do anything out of the house that's brutal. He's getting canines but I'm not sure I can blame it on that.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: Yeah ya know if we didn't have the back porch for her to romp around at 7 a.m. I think she would be demanding and upset too! She wants to go outside by 7-7:30 lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
K definitely is acting up lately! I feel like she knows I'm pregnant and is claiming her territory. She has to hold my hands while eating breakfast so I don't run away. As soon as I sneak upstairs to get ready, I hear "Mommy? Mommy!!!" and then she comes upstairs. She doesn't want daddy to do ANYTHING with her. I love being best buds with her but I'm also dying!! I had to solo her on Sat and barely survived haha. In the morning, I'm barely awake and will snooze a bit on the couch and she comes and pinches my nose and tells me "no seep (sleep)".
She has been throwing more tantrums too. She just threw one for like an hour before bed time. It's probably b/c I've been giving her more screen time than I'd like! Ahhh I really need me to get back to normal soon...
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: we have a backyard too but it's not totally fenced in so I need to be out there with him!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@snowjewelz: it didn't occur to me that maybe he realizes i'm pregnant / changing??
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: Ours is completely fenced in but I would not trust her out there by herself! We have a raised deck too so it's super annoying to go up and downstairs.
Haha I am just guessing. I mean we tell her she's gonna be a big sis and mommy is growing a baby but who knows.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@winniebee: We've noticed that E is worse with me vs. Dad. He was with DH yesterday for an hour and perfect, as soon as I came out he got fussy because he wanted a tootsie roll and we said no.
Saturday night was brutal but we're blaming it on too much sugar... love how other people LOVE to give our kids sweets.
I was just thinking last night about the terrible two's starting early!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@josina: LOL he had a tantrum this morning over leftover cake from his brother's birthday party. I had to move it to another room so he couldn't see it
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: oh yeah, for sure. I feel like most kids I know, terrible twos in full force by like 18-20 months!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@winniebee: lol, I have definitely taken to hiding everything he's not supposed to have!
@snowjewelz: Oh, yay!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
Oops! Just noticed E made a purchase on my kindle last night! At least it was a book I wanted to read since it's too late to return. Time to turn on the child lock! lol.
pear / 1961 posts
@josina: E loves to "read" my kindle. i always have to double-check to make sure i'm at the same spot i was in...or that she hasn't inadvertently purchased whatever book they are promoting on the sleep screen!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: Hahaha that's awesome! I think I saw someone on IG that LO ordered clothes online?!?! Hahha!

@snowjewelz: OMG! I'm so behind on this thread. That is great news! Super exciting!

@winniebee: yeah I definitely wouldn't trust her in yard but on the porch I can see her and I sit with my coffee out there!
@snowjewelz: I swore right when I found out in was PG G's sleep went to hell for those 2-3 weeks?!
Maybe they do know?!
She now rubs my belly a tells "Ataa" (AJ) "nighty night"

@FaithFertility: @snowjewelz: lol.. I guess maybe I should consider it a late Mothers Day gift?

@josina: M loves DH's kindle too and has almost ordered stuff. LOL
M woke up Sat morning throwing up and it continued all day. He's much better now. I did notice last night that he has a 3rd molar now, so that's popped up in the last few days.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@AngelicOne: oh no, seeing them throw up is the worst. glad he is better~
