Just curious since my doctors office is not particularly prompt about calling with test results. I've always had to call to get them (HCG tests, progesterone tests, RPL testing results). It seems like most doctors are fairly prompt about calling with NIPT results though. Did yours call right away with results? Or did you have to call them?

No my obgyn called me. She was always prompt about calling after any lab results thankfully! hope you hear soon!

I called to ask about them the first possible day they could be in (they said 7-10 business days, I think) - and because they knew how anxious I was, they promised to call as soon as they had them in. (Which they did, thank goodness!)

Mine goes through a genetic counsellor not my doc. I bet I'd have to call my doc's office if they were giving my results. My genetic counsellor called right away last time I did it. Still waiting today for mine.....haha.

@delight: Ohhhh geeeee. The told me to try again Friday if I haven't heard. But I'm going to call around 4 today. I go on vacation next Friday and if something is amiss and I need further testing, I really can only do it next Mon-Thurs since I'll be 14 weeks when I get back from vacation. After that, I would have to wait 2 more weeks to get an amnio.

@winniebee: first of all don't even be thinking you'll ever need an amnio!!!! I'm glad you're calling at 4 though. I'm going to call tomorrow afternoon if I don't hear.

Mine called me. It took almost 2 weeks to get the MaterniT21 results.

@ValentineMommy: that's a long time! My OB said 7-10 days, though our lab tech (in house) said 7.

@winniebee: I think my doctor's office is pretty good about calling. I got my Panorama results exactly a week after I had the blood draw. I would just keep calling, and assume they'd either forget I called the day before or that I'd get a different receptionist.

@winniebee: You're telling me! Ours said 1-2 weeks and I think it was 1 day short of the 2 week window. They also have an in-house lab.

@pwnstar: oh i didn't realize that. i thought CVS was 10-13 weeks and amnio 16+ weeks.

@winniebee: I had a CVS at 12 weeks. When I spoke to the Peri before the procedure, he told me an alternative was to do an NIPT and then wait two weeks for an early amnio (eta: at 14 weeks). I didn't know that was an option until then!

I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to call. I asked my doctor if they were quick about it and she was like we try but sometimes we get busy, so just call. I *hate* calling, but I will at the end of the week next week so I'm not left wondering what if all weekend.

Mine called but the test had also picked up a potential problem. I missed the call and when I heard the actual doctor's voice on my VM I knew it wasn't good
I was on vacation too, and not with my husband! (Everything turned out ok in the end).I was actually a little frustrated because when I talked to the dr she kind of made it sound like they had had the results for a couple days and just no one had called me yet. I didn't call myself because I didn't really expect anything to be wrong, we weren't trying to find out the gender, and I am overly cautious about being perceived as that annoying patient. I should have called before leaving for my vaca though, so I hope a) everything is perfect and b) everything is sorted out before your vaca, @winniebee!

I'm glad it worked out ok for you! I have never been worried about issues w/ prior pregnancies...but now I'm almost 36 so can't help but worry. Of course finding out sex of the baby is an added bonus, but it's not why I'm chomping at the bit.

I was told 7-10 days, but my results took exactly 2 weeks. My doctor had actually told me if it was good news, she'd just upload it to the portal, but if anything was amiss, she'd call me. And of course, she decided to call me with good news (and almost give me a heart attack!) but I never called to check on the results, my doc is very good at contacting me.

I called my geneticist after speaking to my OB. I would definitely call whoever you need to get the answers.

Mine called me, but I think my chart had been flagged due to a potential genetic risk (that ended up being moot, thankfully)!

My genetic counselor emailed us. She said she would only call if she needed to discuss any abnormalities.
