Ours didn't and I was shocked! We had a 5 day stay and I found out when I asked where I could get a copy of the footprints the day before we left. The nurse said, "we don't do that anymore.. It's funny because everyone always asks us that" um, duh! lol
I finally got around to doing them at home at 3 months. I wish I had newborn prints though.
Did your hospital do footprints?

Our hospital does them immediately after the birth for state records and then will do keepsake ones after getting the baby cleaned up.

Ours didn't either and I was really upset! They gave us this weird ink pad that was messed up by the time we got home. I ended up buying an ink pad and got some prints around 5 weeks. We never got DS's hands though.

Yep! Ours did them, and they allowed us to also put baby's footprints into our baby book at the same time

I showed them my baby book and has my husband bring it to the OR (I ended up with an unplanned csection). They did an awesome job putting a cute little footprint in my book

We have footprints. They tried to do handprints but she wouldn't unclench her fingers.:)

@mediagirl: it was so hard trying to get DS's handprints! I had to get him where he was in a deep sleep and totally limp, haha
I had no idea that so many hospitals weren't doing this! Most states don't keep footprints/handprints on record anymore and the hospital I gave birth in is a teaching hospital for Harvard.

They give dad a white scrub shirt and put the footprints on there.

Our hospital did two sets, one for their records and one in our baby book. They did them just minutes after he was born.

Ours didn't... I don't know if California needs them for records anymore. Guess I gotta hit up Michael's for an ink pad! Thanks for the reminder

Nope, and it's too bad.
I did footprints in a clay-type thing at about one month, but it would have been nice for them to do footprints in the hospital still.
