nope, neither time, which is a good thing because they were both C-sections and I didn't want the doctors to have to pick him up off the floor.
he stayed by my side the whole time, behind the curtain

Yeah, especially during the first 2. He saw everything. (He said sometimes watching the head crown haunts him in his sleep... :-P) The third time I had more of a traumatic delivery, so he was kind of huddled in the corner while a team of doctors surrounded me, and he didn't really get to see much.

Yes, he was right there getting a firsthand view of everything both times! He is usually pretty squeamish about blood etc but he was so mesmerised by our child being born, he couldn't look away.

I'm not sure. I had a c-section and was so nauseated that I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to where he was or what he was doing.
When I was scrolling through the main board, I interpreted the thread title as being about tv, as in does your husband watch every tv show there is, and I was about to chime in and say omg yes...then I realized it was about childbirth

No and it makes me laugh when I think back
. When they told him to grab a leg the look on his face was priceless!! He knew he was going to hold a leg but I think when it happened it was so much closer than he'd imagined. He was a trooper though but when they asked him if he wanted to look as dd was crowning he said no...they asked are you sure, she's got hair.... He was like nope I'm good! Lol. And when they asked if he wanted to cut the cord he said no thanks

I had a c/s and he watched. He was fascinated. He gets so excited to retell the whole story which is nice since I couldn't see anything!

Yep, front row view, along with my mom and MIL. FIL was there, too, but he was up by my head.
I had a c-section the second time, and he said he looked about 10% of the time. I was really anxious and really needed him close, but he stood up to look a few times. He said he saw my guts. I asked him why he'd want to look and he said it was probably (hopefully) the only time he'd get to see something like that in person.

He didn't, but that was because I needed him to help me stay sane and lucid. He is the only reason I was able to get through pushing with my herniated disc.
I don't know if he would have looked, though. He's pretty squeamish in general, but he also said he wanted to look. I think he glanced down a few times, but he mostly stayed with me. And thank goodness for that!

Not my story, but my dad, who is the most squeamish person I know, had to be put on a gurney while my mom was in labor with DD2. They thought he was having a heart attack, but he really passed out from seeing blood! Fat lot of help he was

He watched it all, he was all about it. wasn't grossed out at all. I only pushed for less than 10 minutes so it wasn't too much up close and personal time. I didnt have anyone else in the room. That would have been weird to me.

haha he didn't want to but they made him hold a leg so he had no choice!

Yep! He said he wouldnt look at first, but then he was holding a leg while I was pushing, and my midwife was encouraging him to watch! Once he did, he was such a great motivation! Telling me how much progress I was making each time! I pushed for 2 hours, so I needed the encouragement!!

Yes - he filmed it both times.... It was supposed to only be from my head, but he's 6'8", so EVERYTHING was on video.
