My parents spend a decent amount on each grandkid for the holidays, and they let me do the shopping so that's kind of nice! They aren't up to date on toys so it takes the stress off them. They get gifts from DH's parents and then from 3 aunts/uncles. Then usually $20 for their bank accounts from great grandparents which is such an awesome gift! So they get pretty spoiled from others. It's a good thing we don't buy many toys throughout the year!

Yes - my mil buys LO multiple toys weekly. We have dinner with her every week and she brings LO a bag of new toys every time. And new clothes multiple times a week. It's turning into a bit of a problem, which I haven't figured out how to address without there being hurt feelings/drama.
Needless to say, holiday gifting is totally overboard.

My in laws want to buy junk for DS all the time. We've been able to finagle some baby gear we needed instead but they still want to buy toys on top of it all. We still have toys from his birthday in September we haven't yet opened and I will probably regift for Xmas because there is so much. We can't talk them out of it!

Yep. I try to ask for specific things. My mom sticks to that plus books and jammies. My ILs tend to buy a lot for everyone.
Last year (first Christmas and first grandchild) we had a pickup truck full of all his new toys. Tragic thing is he plays with nothing!

Yep, from grandparents to my brother and his wife and my best friends and cousins. We didn't even buy anything for his birthday! He picked out one 20$ toy at tru and that was it! I try to put away toys too and pull out for later dates.

Yes, year round. I ask my Mom for specific things and we go shopping together. MIL gives us clothes/shoes every few times we see her- often seasonal items we would not buy.
Needless to say, holiday gifting is totally overboard.
