I think I called on her very first day, just once.

Since then, I've only called if I'm picking her up early (to let them know), or are going to be late, etc.

We have a nanny so it's a little different, but I do text at least once a day to see how things are going.

@bunnylove08: I think calling again on the first day is totally reasonable. The daycare is probably used to it! I cried the first day I left both DS and DD. Its a rough day! The daycare knows that and will likely be happy to reassure you

I think once is good I know it's hard but she needs time to get adjusted too.

I will shoot a text to our in home daycare if LO had a rough night or morning to see how she's holding up or if she had been sick. I call if I'm going early or going to be late, something time sensitive.

When we first started, he had a rough time adjusting, so I called once/day for the first 2 weeks (he only went 2x/week). Each time, they let me know that he stopped crying immediately after I left and was doing great. I loved his teacher, so I started to just catch up with her in the morning on how he did the previous time he was there.

I don't usually call, but I did on the first day and when he has a rough morning and goes off crying it's usually kind of pointless because they always say everything's fine. Actually called today to ask his teacher if he's been acting oddly, because he's been really sad all weekend and I can't figure out what's up. But of course she said everything is fine.

I've never called and only texted once when we were running late one morning. The teacher texted me updates and pics during her first week though
