Today is LO's first day of daycare. She was a trooper when I left. I got to work and DH and MIL wanted me to call the daycare to see how LO was doing. I called at 10 and they said she cried but she is okay. She was sitting with the teacher and having breakfast.
I'm tempted to call again to see how she is doing but I dont want to be a nuisance. Should I call or just find out when I get home?
Tell me if you called to check on LO at daycare?

I think I called on her very first day, just once.
Since then, I've only called if I'm picking her up early (to let them know), or are going to be late, etc.

I called 1-2 times a day for her first week. Now I only text if I'm going to be early or late...or if something changes.

We have a nanny so it's a little different, but I do text at least once a day to see how things are going.

@bunnylove08: I think calling again on the first day is totally reasonable. The daycare is probably used to it! I cried the first day I left both DS and DD. Its a rough day! The daycare knows that and will likely be happy to reassure you

@Amelieisme: thanks, I totally called and I think I'm done for the day.
I got a great update from her teacher. Her teacher told me she saw another kid crying and she went to the kid and said, "It's okay to be sad. My mommy and daddy are at work too".
She is napping without a problem. I feel really good.

I think once is good 
I know it's hard but she needs time to get adjusted too.
I will shoot a text to our in home daycare if LO had a rough night or morning to see how she's holding up or if she had been sick. I call if I'm going early or going to be late, something time sensitive.

When we first started, he had a rough time adjusting, so I called once/day for the first 2 weeks (he only went 2x/week). Each time, they let me know that he stopped crying immediately after I left and was doing great. I loved his teacher, so I started to just catch up with her in the morning on how he did the previous time he was there.

I don't usually call, but I did on the first day and when he has a rough morning and goes off crying 
it's usually kind of pointless because they always say everything's fine. Actually called today to ask his teacher if he's been acting oddly, because he's been really sad all weekend and I can't figure out what's up. But of course she said everything is fine.

I called when we were having some known issues just to check in. The head teacher also kept a phone on her and agreed to text me updates if I was concerned.

I've never called and only texted once when we were running late one morning. The teacher texted me updates and pics during her first week though
