We *really* like our girls teachers right now.
DD2's one teacher has a 15m at home and she was asking where we bought the little green pouches we've been using. We got talking about how pouches are so expensive! So I was ordering something from Amazon the other day and threw a box of Little Green Pouches in there for her little boy! 
We really appreciate how much our girls teachers love them and take such great care of them!

We don't interact that much with our teachers; I don't even know if they are married/have kids!

Yes, when I can! I like to bring in Starbucks travellers for the teachers, and we recently surprised LO's head teacher for her birthday. They take such good care of her, and they genuinely love the kids. I feel like it is the least I can do!
ETA: I know they get paid and all, but in reality, the vast sums of $$ we pay go toward licensing, insurance, etc. We go to a non-profit daycare, and while the teachers aren't poor, they're not making money hand over fist, either. So yes, I like to make them feel appreciated for all the times they go above and beyond for my little girl!

@snowjewelz: all the teachers at our center are very friendly! You should chat with them more! I bet you will hear more interesting tidbits if you befriend them a little.

@regberadaisy: I don't drop off or pick up lol! My mom gets more info out of the teachers usually. DH doesn't like to chitchat, lol!

I give simple things from time to time to her daycare teacher--cut flowers from our garden, nice candy b/c I know she has a sweet tooth, a note of thanks. My mom had us do this for our teachers growing up.

I don't, because I don't want it to be construed as it being some kind of thing between us for preferential treatment.
I do bring stuff for the classroom on occasion, though.

I actually was just thinking that I want to do this for the 4 main teachers in my son's room. I absolutely love them and they've been super accommodating with working with me so that I can come nurse at lunch 1-2 days per week. Any suggestions about things to take? I was thinking bagels and cream cheese but am still thinking about other options.

@JenGirl: I think breakfast is always a good idea! Or what about a box of assorted granola bars? I know sometimes if they're low on numbers our teachers might only get a 30 minute lunch break. So that might be good to have on hand for them?

This is definitely something I want to do! As a teacher it always made my day when a student would bring me something little...a flower, a note, a muffin, etc. Knowing a parent was thankful for the hard work I put in every day was so encouraging.

@JenGirl: In my experience, food and coffee is always a hit with teachers. Bagels are great b/c you can eat them on the go, and you can easily provide a variety.

@regberadaisy: oh that's so smart! I might do that too! I haven't done anything yet because there are so many rotating teachers and I can't get a good handle on who I should bring something for! But a single flower would be doable

I don't but I sort of wish I could. The reason I don't is because there are so many people helping out. Between her main teachers, the teachers in the adjoining room who often help in her room, the admins who cover in the morning and evening, the teachers' assistants, and the music teachers, I think there are 15 people who regularly come into contact with my LO. At Christmas we only gave gifts to her 3 main teachers and I realized after the fact that I really hurt the feelings of some of the others. It sucked.

it's actually against the center policy to give gifts, thoguh a couple times per year the parents organize a group gift--like we jointly all pitched in for starbucks gift cards once, and an edible arrangement another time.

yes - small things though, like flowers from the grocery store, or breakfast tacos from the drive-thru.
actually, our lead teacher mentioned this morning that she had a biopsy yesterday and was really stressed about it -- so i'll be bringing her flowers at pickup this afternoon.
