Do you lie about how many people are staying in a hotel room?

I work in Hospitality and 99% of the time reservations always say 1 person. Yes if you put the real # it might raise the cost to cover all the extra costs mentioned above. But if for some reason someone wants to correct it at check in we will change it at no extra cost to the guest. I am sure not every hotel does that but we do.

@pinkb: Interesting. I guess I'm the weirdo who had no idea people did this!

No. I guess I never realized they charge more for more people. Also, I guess it's never more than just DH and I. Do people really share rooms with other couples?! That just seems weird to me, sorry! We like our privacy I guess haha.

Nope, I don't lie! Usually because I want to make sure I get a size appropriate room.

6 people may not fit into a room that could fit 4 people for example. Same with 4 people vs 2. I don't want to have 4 people in a room that only has ONE bed! Or if I am, I'm taking the bed, haha.

@catomd00: This is for a bachelorette, so all girls, but we do sometimes share a room with friends or my SIL and her husband. I guess it doesn't bother us to share if it's just a night or two. We still have a lot of friends who would sleep on the floor to not pay for a room, though, so we're in the "the more the merrier" camp most of the time.
