I usually stay up if she is out, just to make sure she is safe!
I'm probably going to be the worst dad ever when my kids start going out on weekends... I'll be sitting out on the front porch, waiting for the kids to come home. Oh my goodness, what am I going to do when they start dating?! Haha just kidding, I'll keep them too busy to date until they go to college.
Anyway, back to the original question: do you stay up if your SO is out on the town?

It really depends. I think I usually go to bed earlier to catch up on sleep! Sometimes I'll stay up late reading though.

No, lo still nurses motn most the time so I go to sleep earlier than dh all the time

I stay up because I am an introvert who is constantly starved for alone time in my own house. I crave time to putter around uninterrupted, and I almost never get it.

If it's past my bedtime, nope! DH waits for me when I go out though.

Depends how tired I am. I'm really used to DH not being around, after his years in the military, so if I'm tired, i'm headed to bed!

No way! I go to bed. He can stay out so late and the baby gets up by 7 no matter what time we went to bed

Not always because when one of us goes out, we let the one who went out sleep in the next morning. So I go to bed so I can cover the morning without wanting to lose my mind.

It depends what kind of night he's having. Work events end at reasonable times so I will wait up. His friends like to stay out until 2/3am so no way I am staying up for that. When he is not home I will wake up every 30 mins - 1 hr though so it's not the best sleep.

No way. I hit the sack and sometimes I'll go to bed extra early if he's out on the town. Gives me a chance to catch up on sleep and since he's gone I don't miss out on time with him and I also don't get crap for going to be before the sun goes down

I do, but not out of worry. I stay up late because I'm binge-watching all the chick flicks he won't watch with me.

Yup! I feel better knowing DH is home safe vs falling asleep and missing a phone call/text if something happens. I've tried sleeping but no can do.
@mrbee: My dad stayed up waiting for me growing up. Didn't matter I was 16 or 18, or what time I came home. I could always expect to find him sitting in the living room with the TV on waiting up for me.

Hell no! I'm sure it will be different with my kids, though. A mom of teenagers told me she stays up and smells all her kids as they come in the door.

Before LO, most of the time... Tho when I was pregnant I probably passed out too early a few times haha. After LO, if I'm not tired I will but otherwise I'd pass out w/ DD!

Nope! DH has always worked nights (sometimes overnights) and I work during the week days, if I stayed up waiting for him every night I'd be a zombie at work.

I'm a pretty big worry wart. So I'll try to go to sleep but will become jolted awake if I wake up and he's not home yet. Sometimes less stressful to just stay awake.

@Corduroy: haha, that's me! Back when DH and I were living apart, we discovered very quickly that not being under the same roof gives us awful insomnia. We were both up till 2 or 3 am a lot wondering if we should call each other... but wouldn't call because we figured the other one is asleep
