Do your in-laws speak a foreign language? If so, do they use it to speak to each other in your presence and do you find it rude?

My in-laws speak Arabic and will often say things in Arabic to each other when in our presence. My SIL (not their daughter) and I think it is so rude. You can tell she does it when she doesn't want us to know what she's saying. My husband and his brother don't speak it but can understand most of what they are saying-I've never heard them speak a word of Arabic. My MIL saw my daughter this weekend and immediately started speaking in Arabic to her. Um she's 10 months old and can't understand what you're saying and I don't like not knowing what she's saying! And my daughter started to cry when she did this so I wonder if the foreign language scared her! Drives me batty!!!

I should add they've been in this country for over 40 years now and can both speak English very well-he is a professor and she has her masters in something sciencey and has written a book about it in English. I don't think it is them not feeling comfortable speaking English at all and it's always my MIL that starts it.
