With DD1, I stopped at 9 months and got my period back the same month. With DD2, we're still going strong at 11 months, so no period yet! I plan to stop pumping but keep nursing after 1, so I wonder when my period will come back.
It's crazy because between since April of 2014, I've only had my period for ~7 months between pregnancies and nursing!

I got mine back about 8 months PP. Hopefully yours holds off until you're ready to stop - my supply dropped a lot after getting my period back.

I've had 2 random pp periods in 9 months, first was around 9 weeks. Still BF.
With E I also got my period back early but I think it was more regular with him. Not lucky enough to miss out on those completely!

I got mine back about 12-13 months postpartum. I was EBF (and pumping at work) the whole time. For probably 2-3 months before I finally got it, I had a lot of off and on menstrual cramping like it was going to start. I stopped pumping but kept nursing until DS was about 26 months old.

@MrsADS: I totally thought I was getting my period back a few times too! But very sporadic, so maybe I'll watch for the signs. So you always still had some milk in you to nurse after you stopped pumping?

Around 9.5 months with Xander and 11 months with Logan (corresponding to when I had the Mirena inserted).

17 months! I was still pumping once during the day and overnight. I got pregnant the next cycle (still nursing)

14 months! I stopped pumping at 12 months and DD was down to 1 nursing session a day before bed. AF didn't come back until she weaned completely at 14 months. Only had 3 cycles and am pregnant again!

I kept nursing and pumping until close to 13 months. My period came back at around 11 months. My pumping output was dropping so I suspected it. Also, my girl had been sleeping through the night for quite some time. Even after I stopped pumping, I still nursed morning and night for a while without a problem.

With my son, it came back at 6 freaking weeks! Even though I was still nursing around the clock. Now, at almost 5 weeks pp, I am sure hoping it doesn’t come back next week!

16 months PP with my first. I stopped pumping at work at about a year but we continued nursing past 2 yrs. So I was lucky!
Currently EBF and 3.5 months PP with my second and no period so far.

7.5 mo with my first and 11.5 mo with my second. I EBF and pumped at work. Didn't wean until 2 with my first and my second just turned 1. FWIW, with my first, even though I had my cycle back my luteal phase was only 7 days until she was 1 (when I quit pumping). Never had any noticeable supply drops but some women do right before it starts.

With lo1, I was combo-feeding and it came back around 7 months. lo2 is ebf and it came back earlier, 4 months

I ovulated and subsequently got a period like 2 weeks after weaning the baby at 12 months. But unlike a lot of other women who trickled it out slowly, I went from EBF to nothing in just a couple of weeks.

@snowjewelz: I can't vote because at 10.5 months it's not back yet. DD is still eating once overnight a lot of nights. And nursing every 2-3 hours during the day. Several times I've been sure I've ovulated, or have had period-type cramping, but nothing yet!

I didn't get it back until after I had my mirena removed at 2 years postpartum. But I attribute that to the mirena rather than nursing. I did nurse at least once overnight until about that age as well so it may have helped.

About 11 months pp when it came back for real. One random mini-period prior to that at like 9.5 months pp.
I was still nursing 2x/day and pumping 3x/day so was really hoping it would hold off longer. Not a bad run though.

I got it back a couple weeks after she dropped to one nursing session a day, so it was about 20 months. Then I got pregnant the next month so I had one period over almost 4 years!
After my second I got an IUD and have had a bunch of random spotting so I don’t know what was a light period or spotting and how much the iud affected it.

I ebf my daughter until 18m and got af at 7. I ebf my son until 13m and got af at 12. I think the difference was how frequently he nursed and that he nursed at least once Overnight.

I was still nursing probably 2/3 times a day on average and got mine back at 19 months postpartum. It actually came back pretty regularly at that time.

13 months with LO1. I stopped pumping at work at 12 months but was still nursing 3-4 times a day.
15 months with LO2. He was still nursing a lot but started eating more solids around 13 months so I think that did it.

About 6 weeks after I weaned (weaned close to 11 months). I’m pretty sensitive to hormonal changes so I’m not surprised it took that long.
I also went from ebf (no pumping) to nothing within weeks.

DD- 4 months. I nursed til 13m
DS- 7 months. I nurses til 11m
The only difference I can think of was that she was sleeping 10 hours straight by 4 months and he kept a couple night feeds until 7 months.

11 months PP and I nursed her till 2 1/2 years. I did go to work and pump though. I would go sometimes 7 hours without pumping but nursed twice at night until 18 months
