I stopped pumping during the day at 14 months and got my period back a month later, still breastfeeding about 2x night at at almost 18 months.

4 months, coincided with DS starting to sleep through the night and my supply tanking.

I think I got mine about 3 months postpartum even while EBF. I was disappointed to say the least, lol!

DD 2- never skipped a period

11 months with DS1 and 10 months with DS2. DD is almost 7 months and nothing yet, so I'm hoping I have a few more months.

15 months - I was still nursing. AF returned almost exactly 4 weeks after LOs stopped nursing overnight. At 15 months they were nursing 2x per day (morning and bedtime) and shortly after we reduced to just bedtime then weaned at 16 months.
I was amazed at how STTN impacted my hormones!

After 12 months I cut down to nursing just in the morning and before bed, and my period came back about a month later (so 13 month pp). Then I immediately got knocked up again, lol.

About 16 months. My body doesn't switch gears until I drop every last feeding.

@meadow: lol, your body is like alright, you're sleeping again, so you can handle periods again

LO1: would have returned around 11.5 months but I got pregnant
LO2: 14 months
LO3: is currently 14 months and still hasn't returned. (still bf a couple times during the day and overnight)

DD: 10.5 months
DS: still waiting at 13 months, but I’m tandem feeding, so I think that has something to do with it

I didn't get my period back until I 100% weaned each kid. With LO 1 it was 10 months pp, and with LO 2 I nursed until about 13 months old, and period came back a few weeks after I stopped, when he was 14months.

I just wanted to come back an updated that DD2 is 16.5 months and I got my period back! She still nurses. This totals to me not having a period for 25.5 months total I forget how much this monthly visitor sucks!

After LO1, I got pregnant at 16 months postpartum, without having a period beforehand. I was still breastfeeding and had just started going to a reproductive acupuncturist to get things going again since we wanted to try. After LO2, I don’t have any signs yet at 11 months PP and breastfeeding.

@snowjewelz: haha, it does suck. I’m pretty thrilled that I’ve had so few periods in the last four years.

@Iced Tea: I almost want to just get pregnant again lol! I always have heavy/painful periods.... I’m considering even going back on the pill. I’ve turned into the whiniest baby about this lol!

8 months with #1. No signs of returning now at 9.5 months pp with #2. Very weird as they have similar infrequent nursing habits and both night weaned themselves by 4 months.

@snowjewelz: Just realizing this is an old post but I didn’t get my period back until 16 months, a full 4 months after I stopped pumping during the day. (DS still nurses before daycare and before bedtime at 18 months.) After all that time, I was expecting that first PP period to be a gory nightmare but it so wasn’t!

I had to 100% wean to get my period back, at 15 months. Even the five minutes i was nursing at night was preventing it.Period came 3 weeks later I believe. It really broke my heart. I remember sobbing the last time I fed. Baby didn't care. But I wanted to get pregnant which I did my second cycle back.

6 months with DD1.
8 months with DD2.
It's pretty awful now. Not super heavy, but extremely painful for the first couple of days.

Had to totally wean with both kids. DS1 I got it about 14 months PP, 1 month after I quit pumping/nursing. DS2... just quit pumping and nursing so I'm in limbo waiting for it. Ugh.
