@whenoceansrise: We were married 5/25/13! Our anniversaries are fast approaching!
DH & I were only together (dating & engagement) for less than two years before we were married so the wait wasn't as bad but yes, definitely was hard but worth it!
@simplyfelicity: I just tell DH everything haha; I can't hide BFP news from him for even 1 sec! I told him when I first tested and how the line was so faint I wasn't sure and he was like, ok. Then the 2nd test when it was a for sure positive I just ran out to tell him and he was like, ok. My expressive DH haha

@simplyfelicity: I've thought and thought of so many ways to tell DH, but he said he wants to know as soon as I know. He's impatient like me!

@snowjewelz: Your DH sounds like mine! He is not very talkative or expressive! He isn't a very demanding or picky person at all but, for some reason, he has all these baby/pregnancy notions. It's actually really cute.

@whenoceansrise: Mine just told me he wants me to be really really sure as he doesn't want to get his hopes up too much. He said he wants to be surprised and not necessarily told right away....so now I am trying to be creative.
Any other ideas out there?

@snowjewelz: They are! Are you getting him a gift? I'm ordering a guitar that he's been wanting. (best wife ever)

@simplyfelicity: You can put a bun in the oven and tell him to get something out there for you DH is just learning to be a little more expressive b/c I'm total opposite from him - very emotional and expressive haha. Thank God I know him so I know he's just as excited as I am, otherwise you would think he's not happy!
@whenoceansrise: You are the best wife ever! We're just planning on doing something fun together since it's the long weekend. We both just buy what we want so it's pointless gifting each other lol. Plus, the gears he loves for his many hobbies are sooo expensive

@simplyfelicity: honestly, I never could find any ideas that I liked! The one that you have planned seems cool though and I love the show New Girl!

@snowjewelz: I totally am That's fun! ours falls on the day before mothers day so we were thinking of making a trip to Houston (where my mom lives) and surprising her for mothers day. It'll be even more fun to surprise her with the news of a future grandbaby! Wishful thinking!

@snowjewelz: That's super cute and requires little planning vs the cake.

@MrsHansen82: haha I was so sure I wasn't this cycle. I was soooo ill the week I ovulated and I took a decongestant which is meant to effect CV. I was very relaxed about the whole thing for the first time which probably helped. I just asked you on the April thread but are you still holding off to POAS? I found it impossible to wait til the 4th!!!
@simplyfelicity: this thread and HB I'm general is the loveliest forum on the net I think. I was just surfing around to find a British one to join too but none of them appeal to me so I'm gonna stick with you lovely American ladies!
It's mine and DH 1st anniversary on April 27th so really soon. I have no idea what I'm going to get him... I want to think of something amazing but it is very hard. We have been together 8 years so I feel like I have got him all the good things in the past! Last year I got him an amazing snowboard which he proclaimed the best gift ever!

@simplyfelicity: we are having the same approach to start out. I think my DH would not be able to handle jumping in head first!

@Mrs.Lilac: congratulations!!!!!
@whenoceansrise: @simplyfelicity: my baby/pregnancy purchase was a book called "Be Prepared" it's a book for men about the first year of life. I plan in wrapping it up with the test when the time comes.

@As Time Goes By: I love that idea! There is also a "bro code" for dads but my DH is neither much of a bro nor a "How I Met Your Mother" fan. I also like the idea of having something sent to the house in his name, hiding it until I am PG and then when he comes home that night telling him he got a package and watch him open up the package to find my digital pee stick (in a baggie,) a SF Giants bib and maybe something like that book. Then, just watch him open it all up and watch it sink in.:)

@As Time Goes By: Yay! I am glad to have an "easy, breezy" buddy! Not that I will be like that for long, just right out of the gate. Is this your first month TTC?

@MrsHansen82: I actually live near Modesto. My MIL has season tickets and DH is a huge fan, so I am a fan by marriage.

@simplyfelicity: yup first month too! We're taking it easy to begin with for a couple reasons, one being I can over think a lot. It sure would be nice to not have to worry about it!
I like the idea of giving the delivered box... You could record his response to opening it too!

My OPK was POSITIVE yesterday y'all so lots of BDing this week. Fingers crossed!!

@whenoceansrise: Yaay! Fx for you! This month's looking really good for you!

@snowjewelz: Thanks! So ready for this!
@theotherstark: oh yes, and lots of symptom spotting!
apricot / 348 posts
@whenoceansrise: yay for positive OPK. So exciting. I have absolutely NO symptoms now nor did I in my TWW so I wouldn't worry if you don't get any symptoms. That is one of the main reasons I was convinced I wasn't KU. Everyone kept saying their boobs were hurting or they had cramps etc and I felt not a thing!
nectarine / 2053 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: good to know! This is going to be the longest TWW ever!
nectarine / 2028 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: ditto that... I spent so much time reading about the symptoms I "should" have and freaked when I didn't. Fingers crossed things are still going well, but every woman is so different and your body reacts to pregnancy so differently. To this day I haven't had painful boobs, and my fatigue is very minimal. Hoping for BFPs for you soon, @whenoceansrise: and @MrsHansen82, as well as those that just joined and I haven't gotten to know!

That is why you're not out till you're out! All I had were those pinching sensations the first few days and then I felt great up till 13 DPO! Fx for all my ladies!
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@As Time Goes By: I completely understand. I such an overthinker that I overthink overthinking. It would be great to get KU the old fashioned way without temping, charting, OPKS...but DH and I are going to try that and then go from there in a couple months if we aren't PG.
I had thought of recording his response...like pretending I am texting or something.

Since I am not temping or doing OPKs this month,, how do I know when to test? FF tells me that I should be ovulating between april 8th and 10th. This is based on having a 28 or 30 day cycle (which I am not sure at this point.) Should I test two weeks from the 10th? Maybe April 25th since that is when AF is due and I should have a much more definitive answer? Is it possible to be late for AF, get a but really be ? Sooooo many questions...
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@simplyfelicity: If you don't want to waste tests or don't want to get disappointed w/ BFN (from testing too early), I'd wait till later, since you are not even sure when you'll O. FF's calculations are totally standard if you're not inputting any information!
apricot / 346 posts
@whenoceansrise: good luck... Hopefully it's a quick wait for you this month!

@whenoceansrise: FX for you, sounds like you covered all your bases!

@As Time Goes By: @simplyfelicity: @Kbee: thank you so much ladies! My hopes are seriously high this cycle! So is my husbands! He just texted me "I miss you and banjo (our dog) and Olin or India." Olin & India are the baby names we have picked out!

So, I totally want to jinx it, but I realized that if I get PG this month, that would be the best mother's day present ever! I found these on Amazon. My mom is already a grandma but this would be my MILs first.

@whenoceansrise: OMG that is so cute! what a sweet hubby! Also if we ever get another dog we might name it banjo because that is the cutest name for a dog!!
nectarine / 2053 posts
@Kbee: Yes! Name your next dog banjo! Because it's Friday & I'm happy, here are some photos of us with our little banjo
