What's your go to gift for a second (or third, or fourth) time mom?
something small: a small activity for older kiddos, and maybe a swaddle or baby paper for the new LO. Starbucks gift card for mom if she drinks coffee/tea.
Bigger budget: Amazon gift card so she can order what she needs from her rocker!

My newest go to baby gift for firsts or seconds is a Pottery barn personalized blanket. I absolutely adored it when my SIL gave us one for our second kiddo. I've given it now three more times to rave reviews.

I'd say something personalized too for #2, since they usually get so much hand me downs (in my case, 100% hand me downs). But I'd love cash, giftcards, diapers!

I think food or a gift card for a massage/pedicure/manicure. My MIL took me out for a pedicure within the week after LO2 was born and it was such a treat. I also would have liked a photo shoot or gift certificate for a photo shoot for the family/newborn - that was not a part of our budget but I love professional photos.

Right now my go to is the Bjorn Bouncer because it's been such a help for me since it's easily portable and the baby loves it as a place to play or nap when my hands are full with the older one.

I have a couple of friends who are due with #2 pretty soon- I was going to get them a pack of diapers and a babydoll diaper changing set for their older kid (both girls).

@Truth Bombs: That bouncer is pretty much the best thing. Ever. It's my #1 recommendation for friends when they are making baby registries and, without fail, I get a phone call from them raving about its magic powers. I love that thing!!
@sorrycharlie: for a second+ time mom, I like to give something like money towards a PP doula/ night nurse if she's having one help out (no better gift than sleep!), or even a manicure/pedicure, after reaching out to her husband/partner to see if he is willing to give mom some much-needed toddler and baby-free time. That's what I'd want, anyway!

@sorrycharlie: my law school BFF is having her second girl and they'll only be 14-15
Months apart so I assume she has most stuff.....I'm going to get the new baby a cuddle and kind doll. Kind of thing you probably wouldn't buy yourself!

With DD1, I felt like we got a million blankets/chairs/towels/Pinterest crafts with her name. With DD2, we got one blanket. If they like that kind of thing, I think it can be a great gift. Also, maybe take some food for mom to eat for lunch or breakfast. I got some frozen breakfast burritos and they've been a lifesaver when I need to cram in some calories on maternity leave.
