My daughter had a sparkly item that apparently has managed to spread glitter everywhere. It's on the floor, the bed, the couch... and spreading, fast!
Any tips for controlling the glitter infestation? Or should we just burn this apartment down to the ground and start over with a new place.

I'd seriously consider burning and rebuilding. Glitter can be very dangerous to the eyes and lungs, if it was me I wouldn't take the chance.

I'm not crafty at all, but could you get some sort of craft shellac spray and spray it on the item (assuming it is a toy?)? Maybe that would keep the glitter from glittering everywhere?

@lamariniere: It's a fairy dress with wings! I think we'll have to wash the glitter out... ot if that doesn't work, give the dress to someone else so rhe glitter gets them and not us (basically the plot to The Ring, but with glitter).

@mrbee: I would be afraid to wash it, unless you wash it by itself. It could get glitter on everything else!

Glitter is so annoying! I don't let the girls have anything glittery because the last time it got stuck on my wood floors from a dress and it literally took like a month to come out. It drove me crazy!

One of our sitters wore something glittery to our house once and when i got home it was everywhere! Otherwise we don't own anything with glitter.

Someone gave my one year olds these little glitter craft stickers for their birthday and I threw them away. No mercy when it comes to glitter, apparently!
Honestly, I'd probably throw the fairy dress away too, unless she's really attached to it. At least hide it for a while! For the glitter that's already infested the house, try those sticky lint rollers that you use on pet hair!

man in real life no one here would be my friend or let me over their house. I work for a company that makes dance recital costumes I come home covered in glitter and sequins after handling the fabrics and they get every where. I've found sequins in my undergarments and shoes. I also gift costumes to all my friends kids.

This thread reminds me of the Christmas cards I open that explode glitter or confetti all over my kitchen. Come on now...like what did you do, put a scoop in each card?? A warning might have been courteous!
