I really cannot stand it. It gets all over everything and it never, ever goes away! I hate seeing it on kids' stuff, and especially babies' things, but this Easter we were even gifted a basket with glittery hard boiled eggs. Really?!?

I never really thought about it. But I love your passion for hating it! It's very cute. Right on!

My family had a contest one year on giving the most annoying gift for the kid's at birthdays. ..my SIL got giant tubs of glitter that lasted a year and she said her kitchen grout has permanent glitter in it

@Tanjowen: oh, now that's just evil. I would've just thrown it out.

I don't use it in my classroom either. Such a mess. You can get glitter glue, which minimizes mess.

I hate getting a glittery card and then you're finding that shit everywhere. Oh yay, glitter on my daughter's eyelid, etc.

@petitenoisette: THIS! I was so worried that glitter was going to get into DD's eyes! They are flakes of metal, for all intents and purposes!! Who thought this was a good idea?

@petitenoisette: its totally the "herpes of the craft world!"
I avoid it like the plague. Our company Christmas cards this paat year had glitter on them and I almost had a heart attack signing them. The guy who picked them out still hasn't heard the end of it.

After working retail during the holiday season and wrapping up a million glitter ornaments.... I hate it with a passion. I always came home covered in glitter. That shit does not go away!

@petitenoisette: haha you totally beat me to it. I was totally going to post that when I saw this thread.

@babybysurprise: I knew I had to do it before someone beat me to it! Definitely not an original joke

It gets EVERYWHERE! Then there's that great moment when you realize you may have been sitting in a serious business meeting with effing glitter on your face

Yes. It's all over my house. With two girls I expect this to be the new normal

I really don't care at all. It's all over my house, but meh, better than a lot of other things.

I work in theater and we have a very strict no glitter rule. That stuff is impossible. It gets everywhere and all the shows after your are glittery like it or not... Horrible.

After my baby shower for DD1, I packed all the cards and gifts into a suitcase to bring them home....even though I washed everything, for the first few months DD1 would wake up with glitter in her hair every so often. We joked that she was going out clubbing at night while we slept.
From a cleaning perspective it drives me nuts, and I try not to put it out for craft projects (we use glitter glue instead)...but sparkly shoes or glitter on tutus? Yes, please!

I got ready for a Halloween party once at my old house and used spray glitter in my hair. It was all over the wall on my bathroom till we moved 5 years later, boo.

Never thought about it, but I agree the clean up drives me mad! It can be years later and I'd still find glitter hidden somewhere!
