Hellobee Boards

We sort of do this. LO is in K. We mostly keep the gifts that are homeschool-ish to the 'extra' parts of what we do for homeschool. For example, he got a chess set for his birthday, some read-aloud type books, and a Lego set. I would probably not do something like a textbook as a gift, but we have done experience gifts that go along with what he's studying and we'll do that again. I vote not crappy (unless the plan is just to get a child size broom and dust pan or something, in which case I'd recommend something like art supplies too)!

Which materials are you getting? I think Montessori works qualify as "exciting" gifts. Be prepared though to have her play with them before you can give a proper lesson though.

I think it sounds like a nice gift. I wrap up cereal boxes for my kids and they love it. My mom did the same for me. As long as it's something LO likes I don't think they'll care if it could be considered a legitimate or crappy gift.

Lots of educational stuff can be fun! I wouldn't wrap up a workbook and pass it off as a present but some learning toys (sorting trays etc) would be fun!
