LO 1- A lot of wide mouth wailing, stunned looks, NO tears and shaking!

LO 2- Back arching and crying

My son walks away when he gets mad, like just drops what he is doing and bolts.

Knees down, then she arches her back to laying flat on the floor on her back. Thank goodness not in public yet, but I'm sure it's coming soon....

Ooooh, that sounds like my youngest for THE LONGEST TIME! And he did this at least 10x a day for as long as I can remember. And he was still doing it when I was solo-parenting for 3 months (he was around 15-18 months) while preparing for an overseas move all by myself. It was not fun and I would just sit next to him until he was done... Often time crying with him b/c I was just so emotionally exhausted by his tantrums. He used to just swing his entire body back so I would always catch him before he slammed his head, which he did a few times. After a while he would slowly sit down and lean back in slow motion and then flip onto his belly and kick and scream for 20 loooooooooooooong minutes. Wow, I really don't miss those. He is almost 2.5 now and is SO much better now. Actually, I haven't seen him do it in a long time. Now he just sits on his legs and cry. He does whine quite a bit every time his big brother bothers him which constantly. He'll also cry when he doesn't get what he wants. I started time outs with him and it's helped. I just wonder now... for how long?! Haha! Anyway, it definitely was a long phase for my youngest and all the ignoring helped a lot. The more I tried to calmed him the more upset he got so I gave up and just sat with him. Mostly to make sure he doesn't hurt himself.

We get the pout then her mouth opens and jaw drops. Then the forced scream and tears. And a very panic-y 'please please please'.

@mrs. wagon: maybe a few, but mostly dry crying for LO 1 these days....very dramatic!

@erwoo: did your older LO throw tantrums?

She goes flat on the ground. On her belly, face down. If you try to pick her up, she goes limp.

@mrs. wagon: i showed my husband a couple weeks ago and he laughed out loud at the throwing the cup. that is our life. lol.

M throws herself backwards, head first. I usually have to catch her head, lay it gently on the ground for her. Then she kicks her legs and screams for a little.

She screams in utter frustration and doesn't stop! She then will just tell no at us when we try to reason with her or talk with her. She also balls her fists and shakes with rage. Sometimes it's hilarious a lot of the time it's hard to find the humor in it!! She usually keeps repeating how we've done her wrong "I wanted one more time" etc. etc. Once she's calmed down she usually apologizes and says "I'm

Lots of big tears and moaning of what it is she wants that we said no to (lately it is often "Daaaaaaaannniellllll" as in Daniel Tiger). Ocassionally whatever she is holding gets thrown to the ground. It usually ends with a plea (to me, never DH) to "rock rock upstairs" in her room.
