Both my nieces (one from my sister and one from my sister-in-law) didn't look anything like theirs! You could KIND of make our their noses but they just looked really squashed and kind of puffy in the pictures. But, newborns look SO different just days after being born!

I don't know because she is being fresh and ISN'T HERE YET (I'm due today) but here are some photos from my 36 week 3d ultrasound! I think they look pretty realistic, but I'll update you in a few days

#2 - quality is stinky because they gave me a DVD, and on a Mac, you can't screenshot something in DVD player. so I paused it and took a picture with my iphone, haha.

@autumnlove: i have to agree with you! i think they are kinda creepy. i wish i could see DD again before she arrives, but i'm okay if that's my only option.

Ours was free at our clinic, they do them routinely at 32 weeks. Honstly, I think every 3D ultrasound looks the same. I am glad we didn't have to pay for ours.

@autumnlove: @birdofafeather: @Coco Bee: We had someone offer to buy us a 3D/4D ultrasound and I refused, because I find the pictures super creepy and alien like ... I thought seeing those images would give me nightmares of an alien style birth.

We did a 3D one and she looked JUST like he did in real life! I was amazed actually. Obviously she wasn't all bumpy and lumpy but her features were totally the same. Right after delivery, I remembered thinking "Oh! She looks totally how I imagined!"

I have seen a few before and after pictures of friends and think they are a bit creepy and never really look like the baby. We decided to save the money!

ours is pretty close! i was just looking at them today for a comparison. we have quite a few and they resemble pretty closely even going back to 18 weeks! pretty amazing really.

My friend got one and her son looked the same.

We aren't going to do 3D us either. I want the surprise too.

We took a picture of her with the 3D/4D picture when she was first born to compare...

I had a 3D ulstrasound at 12 weeks (I knew the tech!) and I said, "baby has my husbands nose!". Everyone thought I was nuts.

She was totally born with my husbands nose. SO THERE!

I had a few more 3D ultrasounds throughout my pregnancy, and the further I got along, the more pronounced her features were. Other than her nose, which only looked like her dad's at my 12 weeek scan, our baby doesn't look ANYTHING like any of her 3D photos.

at my 24 weeks us they did a 3d one and Pierson has teh same nose and EXPRESSION then in the womb that he does when he was born. lol it was neat to see.

I think it'll show you an idea of what your baby looks like, but it still doesn't prepare you for the moment you first see your baby. If I put the pictures next to each other, I see the resemblence.

@jholler25: I totally think she has my husband's nose! my ultrasound was done as part of a study through my hospital, so I don't know if that plays into how it looks different - i.e. black and white as opposed to the brownish?
