If you had elective US how many weeks were you?

I didn't go through with it but I really wanted one around 16 weeks. I hadn't had one since 8 weeks and wasn't going to get one until 20 weeks and it seemed like such a long wait! WIth my first LO I had so many complications that I got ultrasounds a lot. So having the "normal" amount this time around was weird. I'll probably get one more around 37 weeks so 3 total this pregnancy, vs 10 last time.

@BandDmommy: Yes, she told us LO#2 was a girl and showed me the 3 lines (pretty obvious) - it was confirmed two weeks ago at our anatomy scan (another blatant 3 lines). Now - she hasnt been born yet so I supposed there is still a chance but both techs were very confident!

@BandDmommy: Didn't you already find out it is a boy?

Blood tests are really accurate unless something like mosaicism is coming into play.....typically for girls, not boys! Not like you already have Y chromosomes floating around.

16 weeks!
They said 15 weeks would be okay, but preferred 16, so we just waited out one more week just to be sure!

So how many ultrasounds are actually required?
I've had one at 8 weeks(confirm pregnancy), 12.5 weeks (NT) and am scheduled for 20 weeks (anatomy scan, but we're not going to find out the sex).

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: not sure how many are required but I think around 2 is common unless specifically needed.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Technically none are required. My doc did 8 weeks, 20 weeks, and I'll have one more around 37/38. We didn't do an NT scan this time because we did the genetic blood test and given that I'm not AMA my doc didn't see a need for both. Some people only get the 20 week scan.

@Truth Bombs: I'm not AMA either, but my doctor didn't even give me the option to do a blood test.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: here the standard is 8-10 weeks for dating; 11-13 if you choose first trimester screening; 18-22 for anatomy scan and thats it.
I had one late one last time but it was the result of a trip to the hospital for an NST.

I want to say I was 34 or 35 weeks. I only got one U/S at 20 weeks with my practice and I wanted to make sure she had not grown a penis!

The NT scan is elective here.
I got regular u/s at 6w to confirm an inuterine pregnancy. One at 8w to establish an EDD. One at 16w to make sure pregnancy is progressing, anatomy scan at 20w and two at around 30w & 36w to check on growth and position.
