I decided to brighten up my living room for the spring/summer and found some pillows at Home goods for $12 - now I want to match a color in those pillows ans get 2 more - I found the perfect ones at target but they are $25 each - yikes!
Why are pillows so pricey?
They would look awesome though - would you suck it up and buy them or keep looking?

Instead of buying new pillows, I've been buying $10-12 pillow covers when I want to update. I've found nice ones through Jane.com

I have a throw pillow problem (seriously). So on the one hand I'd probably buy them because that's what I do, but on the other I buy so many that I can't justify spending too much on them. If they're perfect and you'll keep them awhile, go for it!

I usually buy from Kohls on sale with a coupon or a two pack from TJ Maxx...I think I'm too frugal to pay $25/each. Buttt if I LOVED them and they had a zipper so I could wash the case and replace the stuffing if it got flat...I'd go for it!

@Torchwood: I have a throw pillow problem, too. I have a closet upstairs pretty much dedicated to them. Where do you buy yours?

@coopsmama: Kind of wherever? Several are from Bed Bath and Beyond. Few from Target. One is Belle (from Beauty and the Beast) with the TARDIS, so it came some from random nerdy website. And at least one from thinkgeek (thwomp from mario). I have a very weird mix of nerdy and pretty.

I think $25 is cheap!!
We just bought fabric to get pillows made cause we couldn't agree on pre-made ones. I don't want to think about how much they cost.

If it includes the insert, that's a good deal! If it's just the cover, that's more than I like to spend.

I just bought 2 new throw pillows at Target for $25. I thought it was a great deal. That being said, I don't switch out our throw pillows often.

I got some soft, velvety ones from Pier 1 for about $18! They're my favorite and so so soft and plush. I did pay $50 for 2 from Urban Outfitters but I wouldn't pay more than $35 or so for one unless it was magical and cleaned itself

Oh I'm with you! I don't like our throw pillows that came with our couch, but spending $50+ for pillows?? Ahh!

If you love them, buy them, especially if it is the pillow+cover. If it were just the cover, I would definitely look elsewhere.

I would check out Ross, Marshalls and other home goods for other $12 pillows. Check websites like Zulilly.
$25 for a pillow is more than what I'm willing to spend.

I'm a sucker for throw pillows, but my max is $69/ pillow not even including the insert.
get the $25 pillows and live with them for a bit and after a couple weeks decide if they are keepers.

@Mamaof2: If I could afford it I would. I like throw pillows/decor in general and now we're at a point where we can buy some frivolous decor items. So, if I really loved them, I would.
