Hi everyone! Early member/long time lurker here 
I am looking for some advice/recommendations on introducing a pillow to LO in her crib. She is 20 months old and my DH and I are wondering if any one had done this and if so, which type of pillow we should use. Thanks in advance!

I gave my son my baby pillow (a small feather pillow) around 1 year for a few months. Then when I got frustrated trying to find a latex foam toddler sized pillow I just gave him a standard sized one (we only use latex foam for allergy purposes) around 16 months and he's been good to go. He is still in his crib but has had the toddler rail since he was 20 months old. A pillow has actually helped him sleep a little better in my opinion.

LO is 21 months and no pillow yet. She's a great sleeper so I wouldn't want to mess with that. Plus, she just doesn't seem to want anything in her bed. Every time I try to put a stuffed animal or her favorite doll in there she cries for me to get it out.

Thanks ladies! @Pelikila, we are also hoping the pillow helps her sleep better since she's still not always sleeping through the night. Plus she has some night congestion so I'm wondering if a pillow will help elevate her a little.

@rsp213: I have an August 2011 baby (20 months old) and we started giving her a small pillow in her crib since she loved ours in our bed. But she won't sleep on it. She scoots down and lays flat on her belly. I try to encourage her for the same congestion issue but she won't. I keep the pillow in there just in case she changes her mind.

We didn't introduce a pillow until he switched to a toddler bed (2.5). He didn't seem to need one before then. It was a pretty thin one but now at 4, he finally has a big, normal pillow.
