How many nights did it take for your LO to finally STTN? We sleep trained my first LO and it took about 3 days if I'm remembering correctly. We are on night two of sleep training our youngest and she screamed for over an hour last night, it was no fun. Maybe I just forgot how it went with my oldest. Im curious how many nights it took for your LO to finally STTN after you went the CIO route.

CIO didn't help LO STTN, but it did help him sleep longer stretches. We CIO'd at 5.5 months, but continued to feed at night until 13 months. He had weight gain issues though (as in, he was losing weight), so he got calories when he wanted them.

We did it at almost 6 months and I think she slept through the second night but regressed on the third....overall it took a week to fully stick. She had STTN a couple of times in the merlin before rolling over in it.

We did it around 5 months and it took her 3 nights. I was actually amazed at how well she took to it. She only cried for 30 min the first night. However, I have one friend whose son cried for over an hour they gave up. Every kid is different so maybe your youngest isn't going to take to it as well.

11 Weeks
First Night: 1.5 hours
Second Night: 1 hour
Third Night: 15 minutesAfter that, she really never cried longer than 10 minutes.

7 months. The first night, he cried around an hour. Second night maybe 20 minutes. Every night after that decreased until he was crying for only a couple of minutes depending on mood, etc.

We sleep trained at 6 mo and at almost 9 she still doesn't sttn most of the time. Most nights we still have 1-2 wakeups but they are super fast (pop in paci). But I haven't made her CIO in the motn bc I don't really mind the quick wakeups and I'm not trying to paci wean. My goal was for her to fall asleep without crying and not make me rock her during wakeups. That happened within a week.

11.5 months and she sttn the first night. It took some wine to get through the first couple nights of initially putting her down though

I think 3 nights. He still cries at naps and occasionally at night. We did not night wean and I never had trouble with him going back into the crib after MOTN feedings. He night weaned on his own at 10 weeks (most of the time anyway.)

We are CIO with DD 2 but not so she will STTN. It's so bedtime doesn't take an hour and to transition her into the crib. She screamed for 20 and fussed for 10 the first night. Second night screamed for 15. Third night screamed once. Fourth night screamed for 10. Tonight went down without screaming at all.
I get her at all subsequent wakeup currently. They're 2-4 he stretches and that's way better than hourly. I can love with 2-4hr stretches.
She's 5.5m.
Did not work at all with DD 1. Her first night was 45m. And subsequent nights worse. She was about 6m and every minute was the same high pitched shrieking that we knew would not subside.

5 months, I think? I introduced an A&A lovey at the same time. She cried two nights, and has been sleeping perfectly ever since. First night was 15-20 minutes, second night was 10 minutes.

For falling aslerp, I think we started around 12 weeks? First day LO cried about an hour on and off. Every time after that was shorter. She still cries for a couple mins sometimes at 4.5 months, but it usually doesn't last more than 2 mins or so.

6 months. The first 3-4 days were the worst but I think it took about a week.

We did CIO at 11 months and it took 3 nights. By the 4th, he was crying for less than a minute.

We started sleep training to STTN yesterday. It wasn't so bad, but I have a feeling tonight is going to be bad. I think yesterday was total luck.

A is 9 months now and i think we need to start cio.. she currently needs to be rocked to sleep and then will wake up a ton of times and need to be rocked back to sleep each time (just popping in the paci makes her more mad). she's sick right now tho so she's sleeping in our room in her rock n' play so she can be on an incline, but once she's feeling better we really need to start bc i'm EXHAUSTED

@Pumpkin Pie: How do you differentiate CIO to fall asleep vs sleep through the night? Do you mean letting LO cry in the MOTN? Looks like your post about this was 9 days ago... did it work?? We're going to need help in both departments, blergh!

general question for everyone re cio.. tonight will be the first night we are doing this but does that mean i just let her cry for as long as it takes for her to fall asleep? i've been reading elsewhere that you should start making them wait longer periods of time each night but not just leave them all together the first night.. but i don't see how that would help her as much as just leaving her. dh will be away tonight so i'm kind of nervous..

@Meridian: just seeing your post. So far sleep has been really good. We put her down between 7-7:30, and she wakes at 6-6:30. For falling asleep, we say goodnight, kiss and then lights out. She'll talk to herself a little and then fall asleep. Sometimes she'll cry when we put her down, and those times we just give her extra cuddles, and that seems to do the trick. For MOTN wake ups, I just stopped getting up to nurse her. Now, sometimes she'll cry around 4-5 am, but only for a few seconds. It's a cry in her sleep, so I think she just wakes after a sleep cycle or something. I am soooooooooooo thankful this sleep training worked for us. We've come a long way. I'm glad the days of multiple wakeups, bouncing, crying are over, at least for now. It is life changing.
