E is 24 months and only uses his paci for sleep (he knows it “lives” in his crib). I used to get kinda anxious about it but have now adopted a more relaxed perspective. He sucks it to calm down and then spits it out during sleep, and uses it as a sort of lovely (it’s a wub a nub) so I’m not sure if it’s THAT much different than sucking on a comfort blanket- for example. Or maybe I’m just trying to justify it
As of now, I don’t plan on doing a dramatic seize of his paci....but I am wondering about how other “relaxed” approaches have gone. Aka should I be worried about a 10 year old with his wub a nub?
It really doesn’t bother me. Our doctor also said four and we have a long time until then. He has it in the car, on airplanes, for sleeping, and when he’s sick. I’m just not strict with it. What’s the point if it’s not causing any physical harm? He adores that thing.
